Thunder smiled again then trotted into the forest. For a moment he almost went to the storage hole, but he knew how much she loved fresh caught hoppers. He smiled to himself then dove into the forest, his eyes gleaming with the hunt on his mind.

Bella began to groom each of her pups softly as she waited for Thunder to return with the hopper. Although she wondered what was taking so long as the storage hole was right near by.

Thunder stalked quietly through the forest, eyes darting here and there. It wasn't long before a crackle in the brush alerted him, and he jumped forwards, flushing the hopper from the bush. With a pounce, the meal for his mate was secured. Picking it up, he turned and began loping back to the pack.

Bella's stomach growled hungrily as she waited for her mate to return. She glanced around and sighed. What was taking so long and why wasn't Thunder back yet? Bella wondered

Thunder loped through the forest and into the meadow, bounding through the tall grass and finally exiting into camp, shaking his coat and trotting up to his mate with a pleased expression. "Here you are" he said, setting down the hopper in front of her.

"This...This smells fresh" Bella said, looking into her mates eyes. "You didn't" She said, her eyes glowing

Thunder smiled and licked her nose happily "I might have" he said evasively as he lay down.

"THUNDER!" Bella said, a little bit loudly. "Thank you!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!" Bella exclaimed happily, pressing her muzzle against her mate. "You're the best mate I could ever ask for" She said as she felt her mouth water from the smell of fresh prey. She smiled and then leaned down to devour the hopper. "So....Good" She said through a few bites of hopper.

Thunder laughed and hugged her "It's just one hopper" he said with an amused twinkle in his eyes, but his smile was very wide as she began eating it. He nuzzled her, happiness exuding from him.
