Thunder smiled, then glanced outside, ears pricking as he heard pawsteps. "I think that's Askari" he said after a moment with a sigh of relief.

“I told you she’d come back.” Bella said. “You know we can’t force her to do anything, I’m just glad she came back.” Bella said with a sigh of relief as well. “Should we see if the pups are awake?” Bella asked

Bella nodded and then stood up and waited for her mate to join her at the entrance to their den.

Thunder got to his paws and padded after her, pushing through the vines and glancing around. It took him a few moments, but he finally caught sight of the tawny female laying in the dark shade, a haunch of meat at her paws.

“Thunder she looks….so sad” Bella whispered. “It breaks my heart….” She admitted with a small sad sigh. “Do you feel bad like I do?” She asked

Thunder nuzzled her " She does" he agreed sadly. "I do, but I don't know what I can do, she's so... wary. Skittish. She hardly speaks to me unless it is to obey my commands." he said with a sigh. He knew she was by no means a shy dog, nor a weak one, and that It was just her loner instincts kicking in.

Bella nodded. “I know honey.” Bella said. “She’s also….like terrified of the pups. She’s never once gone near you if you’re with them, even if you give her an order she’ll except it from where she is when we’re all together as a family.” Bella said
