"go" Bella said, nuzzling her pups. "They're still nursing so, I will just bring them out when they finish" she added as Thunder padded out of the den.

Atlas looked around a bit. "I wonder how many pups Thunder and Bella have" he said suddenly.

Aurora nodded. "I want to be the same thing my parents are!" she said, as she looking around at the packs camp entrance but still didn't see her parents coming in

Thunder nuzzled her then nodded "Ok, I will not be gone long" he said with a smile, then ducking out of the den. "Alright you two, let's get you settled!" he said with a friendly smile. Rebel grinned happily and trotted after him alongside his mate.

Autumn tilted her head "Didn't the Alpha say something about having four pups earlier?" she said curiously.

Askari glanced down at her and smiled slightly "It's a good role, but you have to be strong enough and alert enough for it" she advised in her quiet voice.

Bella smiled and watched her mate go as the pups finished up nursing and she herded them outside for playtime.

Atlas nodded. "ah yes, I do believe he said that" Atlas said, licking his mates ear lovingly as he watched Bella pad out of a den with four pups scrambling in front of her. Atlas smiled. "look at those four" he said to his mate

Aurora nodded a little bit. "ok" she said, looking around again. She sighed, shifting on her paws. She missed her parents. She missed them so much.

Thunder stopped in front of a cozy rock den "How does this one look?" he asked. Rebel looked to Lulu, then stepped inside, sniffing around "What do you think?" he asked, bounding over to her and licking her nose.

Autumn smiled and nodded, then looked over and smiled wider "That will be us soon!" she said happily.

Askari glanced down at the pup, seeing a sad expression cross her face, and shifting nervously again. She didn't do well around emotional dogs. Especially not sad ones. "I bet if you found a job to do time would go by faster" she suggested quietly.

Lulu sniffed the den a bit, and padded inside, looking around. "I like it" she said, padding back out and returning her mates lick. She blushed deeply. She was still a bit shocked herself that SHE actually had a mate. And her mate was the love of her life!

Atlas smiled. "yes it will" he said, licking his mates nose lovingly.

Aurora nodded. "ok..I suppose I'll go find something to do" she said, padding away from Askair.

Clover padded beside her mate, and sighed. "I hate that we had to leave Aurora" she said, as they walked through the forest.

Thunder smiled "well then, if you two think you can drag your own beds in here, I'll be on my way!" he said, dipping his head slightly to them both then trotting off to his own mate, whom he found outside with the pups.

Rebel grinned and nuzzled her happily. "Alright, let's go get our beds!" he said energetically.

Autumn nuzzled him again, leaning against him slightly.

Askari let out a mild sigh of relief as the pup trotted away, retreating to an abandoned corner of sunlight and laying down, but staying alert.

Fang glanced over and nuzzled his mate, "I know, but it will help to boost her confidence and trust when she sees that we always return to her each time" he said, and added "But I do wish we didn't have to leave her" he admitted.

Bella smiled as she saw her mate returning. "hi my darling" she said, licking his nose as Saylor scampered towards him. She jumped on his tail and played with it, biting it wildly. Suddenly, Bella pricked her ears a bit. "Thunder.." she growled. "I hear...." she growled again looking around.

Lulu smiled and nuzzled him, about to speak when she saw something. Horror filled her eyes. "Reblel.." she growled. "uprights" she said, nudging her mate. She let out a howl. "UPRIGHTS COMING! EVERYONE HIDE!!" She said. Racing towards her den and hiding in the back of it.

Atlas looked up and saw a human walking towards them. He nudged his mate back towards their den and hid inside.

Aurora looked around, fear in her eyes. "Where do I go?" she mumbled. "HERE!" Atlas suddenly screeched. Aurora looked over at him, and suddenly she bolted over to him and his mate, ducking into their den for safety.

"Thunder.." Bella whispered. "we need to get the pups inside!" she said. "NOW!" She growled a bit.

Clover sighed. "I know you're right. But I just wish we didn't have to leave her" Clover said.

(the pups don't go inside...they're getting caught along with Bella)

Thunder smiled and nuzzled his pup, gently pulling her off of his tail, then stiffening, whirling around and growling deep in his throat, hackles raising. There wasn't even time for a warning howl. "Bella, get them inside, I have to warn the others" he said quietly, nudging the pups and Bella towards the den before racing to the dens, alerting all he could. He knew that most were already out hunting and scouting and patrolling, which was a good thing in this instance.

Autumn gave a gasp of fear and swiftly moved back to the den, shivering in fear as she lay inside beside her mate.

Askari's nose twitched and she leapt to her legs, eyes widening in fear as she leapt into her den and lay still.

Fang sighed and nodded "I know" he said, then suddenly stiffened and forcefully pushed Cover into the nearby cover of the underbrush. "Uprights... near the camp" he growled in explanation, staying pressed against her.

Thunder knew there was no time to get back to his own den, and he trusted Bella to have gotten the pups inside in time. With a low growl he threw himself into Askari's den, giving her a swift nod before hunkering down in the shadows, eyes trained on the entrance. If those Uprights moved touched any of his pack....

Bella nudged the pups towards the den, but the upright was moving into the camp, and all four pups froze in horror. "pups!" Bella growled. "come on! Into the den!" she said. "NOW!!" Bella said. The pups looked at their mother, but were frozen in terror as the upright moved closer. Bella's hackles rose and she threw herself in front of her pups, growling. "now, what is a mother and her pups doing all the way out here?" The upright said. Bella growled lower as the upright bent low and picked up her pups, placing them into a basket. She was about to attack when the upright...picked her up as well. Bella let out another growl. "oh mama. its ok" the upright said gently. "im going to keep you safe" she promised. Bella suddenly let out a very loud howl and she saw Thunder race from Askari's den. "STAY THERE!" Bella screamed. "WE WILL FIND YOU!" She promised, as a top was put on top of her and her pups and she was lead away from her mate and pack. Bella...trembling in fear, curled around her whining pups. "its ok my darlings" she promised, nuzzling her pups lovingly..Bella's heart was pounding in fear.

Aurora began trembling in the back of the corner, eyes flashing with fear. Atlas looked back at her, and then nudged his mate. "Autumn..." he said. "she's terrified.." he said, suddenly hearing a howl, he poked his head out, and saw Bella being taken away by the uprights. Atlas pulled his head back in. "Bella and the pups have been taken" he said to his mate.

Clover looked at her mate, fear in her eyes, as she watched an upright walk past them. Clover sniffed the air. Bella! And the pups! "Honey...she's got Bella" Clover whispered softly to her mate.

Thunder remained as still as possible, his heart thudding as he heard the Upright suddenly begin to speak. Then a howl echoed from their den, one that set his nerves racing, anger rising. With a snarl he leapt from the den, his eyes narrowing in anger as he saw the Upright holding his mate. NO! They would not take her from him! He was about to charge forward when she yelled to him, and he forced himself to stop, ducking into the shadows before they saw him, his heart feeling as if it were breaking as he watched his mate disappear with his pups, waiting until the Upright had faded from view before walking almost numbly out from the shadows, staring after them. But what could he do? Uprights were too strong, and even if he did attack this one, others would come looking for it.

Autumn looked over and swiftly pulled herself to the pup, nuzzling her and pressing against her. "It's ok little one, it's ok" she said gently, then her ears flattened as her mate spoke.

Fang froze as the Upright walked past them, then his eyes widened and he nodded in agreement. "I can smell them... we must go back to camp and get a party together to chase him down" he said, waiting before rising to his paws and running back to the camp.

Bella trembled and soon the basket was set down, and the top was taken off. Bella looked around, her ears flat against her head as she stepped out of the basket. Instantly growling when she saw the upright. The Upright returned, with a bowl of water...and hopper droppings. Bella growled again and then the upright placed her and her four pups into some sort of box with something soft on the bottom. The pups whined. "mama" Daisy said, looking around in fear. "its..its ok honey" She said, but her heart was pounding in fear. Bella closed her eyes slightly and hoped it was all just a dream. "Ok mama. I brought you your water bowl" the upright said. Bella growled and pulled herself closer to her pups, growling in anger.

Aurora flattened her ears and trembled harder, pressing close to Autumn.

Clover nodded and raced back to the camp with her mate. "WE SAW THE UPRIGHT!" She screeched. She could see the look of horror in the alphas eyes. "we're going to save her" Clover promised, as Aurora suddenly burst from a den. "MAMA! DADA!" Aurora wailed, racing towards them and pressing close to her parents.

Autumn nuzzled the pup, until a female's frantic voice cut the air, and the pup dashed out.

Thunder's eyes were filled with worry, his heart numb with what he had just witnessed. All he loved... gone. So swiftly. To the Great Unknown. At Clover's shriek he snapped out of his stupor.

Fang raced out of the woods beside Clover, swiftly going up to his Alpha. "We can gather all available dogs immediately" He said seriously. Thunder gave a numb nod "Do so, Aurora, you must stay with Atlas and Autumn" he said quietly, just as the hunting party emerged from the forest as well.

Fang nodded and turned to see Drake standing beside him. Drake nodded at his look and raised his muzzle, letting out a sharp bark that commanded all to be present.

Bella heard paw steps, and she looked up, curling herself closer to her pups…at the sign…of…of a cat. “Hi there” the cat meowed. “Who are you?” Bella growled. “I’m Cookie,” the cat called cookie meowed. “And you are…?” Cookie asked. “Bella..” Bella said. “Who are these cuties?” Cookie asked. Bella looked at her pups, and point with her tail to each. “Daisy. Willow. Saylor, and my only son, Sage” Bella said, growling still. “I need to get out of here” Bella said. “You can’t leave now..” Cookie said. Bella looked at her and growled. “Why?” Bella asked. “Because, one, it’s getting late, and two, you will NEVER make it back to wherever it is you came from with those four pups” cookie meowed. “How old are they anyways?” She asked, sitting down and curling her tail over her paws. “Four weeks” Bella said. Cookie hissed a bit. “Yea, you’re not going anywhere.” Cookie said. “I…I need to get home…to my mate.” Bella said. “Look outside.” Cookie said. Bella looked over. “How…how is it getting dark?” Bella asked. “Are you a mouse brain?” She asked. “Excuse me?” Bella growled. “Sorry. Cat words. It’s going to rain” Cookie said. “Cookie…at least look for my mate” Bella said. Cookie let out a morrow of laughter. “Absolutely! Not” she said. Bella growled. “Just leave me alone” Bella said. Cookie let out a hiss. “Whatever” she said, turning with her tail in the air and walking away. Bella licked her pups as her trembling continued.


Aurora looked at her parents and then Autumn and Atlas. “C…can I stay with you?” She asked.

Clover looked around. “We need to hurry. Rains coming” she said. “Her scent will fade if we don’t”

Willow whined in fear, pressing against her mother as a strange creature approached them. Where were they? what had happened? She whimpered in fright.

Autumn nodded quickly "Of course" she said quickly.

Fang nodded in agreement as the rest of the pack gathered around them, those who did not know what had happened quickly being informed, and determined angry expressions settling on everyone's faces. Thunder stepped forward "No matter how angry we are, we must remember not to harm an Upright, unless it is necessary. You know how they can get when they are harmed, they will never stop hunting us if we do so. Our mission is my mate and our pups, and only them." he said, his voice trembling slightly with emotion. "Now follow me, swiftly!" he barked, spinning and racing into the forest, hearing his pack crash into the bushes after him.

“It’s ok Willow” Bella said, nuzzling her towards her belly. “How about some milk” she suggested. All the pups stopped whining and scampered close to her belly, beginning to nurse hungrily. Bella looked down at them, as fear was in her eyes. “Thunder…please.” Bella whispered as the pups nursed. “Hi mama” the upright said. “How are your babies?” She asked, reaching in to pick Daisy up…who instantly began crying. Bella on the other hand, growled and barked angrily. The upright looked at her and set Daisy back down by her mothers belly as she began nursing once again. Bella narrowed her eyes at the upright and curled herself up around her pups, waiting until they finished nursing to try and get some sleep…but it was hopeless.

Aurora pressed close to Autumn as she watched her parents leave, she began trembling once more. “Hey” atlas said. “It’s ok” he said, nuzzling her gently.

Clover raced along side her mate as the lunas scent grew stronger.
