The coyote took one look at the snapping jaws of the pups father, and it bolted out of the den…Bella collapsed onto the ground in front of their pups, her ears pounding. She could feet Thunder nuzzling and licking her. “Thunder” she whispered, pressing close to him. Bella was trembling hard.

Thunder swiftly moved to his mate as soon as the coyote had left, hearing Drake's swift paws and snapping jaws as he chased the creature far from the pack. "Easy there my darling, it's gone, it's gone" he said, swiftly laying down beside her and pressing against her, nuzzling her and licking her comfortingly.

“It almost got them” she whispered again as she snuggled close to her mate. Daisy blinked open her eyes and looked around confused. She smiled as she saw her father and scampered towards him. Plopping herself at his paws, and looking confused as to why both her parents looked scared. Bella licked Daisy and then put her back with her siblings. “What if it had?” She finally asked when Daisy fell asleep once more.

Willow wriggled slightly as she felt her sister move, then settled as she felt her come back to them. Thunder hugged his mate close to him. "It will never get the pups so long as I am here." he said fiercely, then added "And even if I hadn't been here, Drake was only a few pawsteps behind me" he added, nuzzling her again. "Do not think of such things my darling" he said softly.

Bella smiled, and licked her mates cheek. “Thank you my love” she said, licking him again. She closed her eyes slightly and let herself lean close to him. Feeling his warmth against her pelt as they lay around their pups.

Thunder nuzzled her lovingly again, licking her nose "Of course my darling luna" he said, shifting so she could lean against him and allowing himself a sigh of relief. As his eyes fastened on the entrance, he stiffened as a shadow loomed at the entrance, eyes blazing, until Drake popped his serious head in. "I am watching, fear not" he said in a low voice before removing his head and sitting down outside the den entrance, keeping fierce guard. He felt as though the attack was partly his fault. He had moved from his position.

Bella let out a breath of relief as she saw Drake. “How was talking with the loners?” Bella asked, as she snuggled down beside their pups and licked each of them, before looking back up at her mate.

Clover padded beside Fang, her heart full of happiness. They hadn’t gone on their walk yet, they wanted to talk with the alpha first. But when they saw Drake sitting in front of the alpha and Lunas den. “What’s going on?” Clover asked, eyes wide.

Thunder gave a nod of thanks to Drake, then nuzzled his mate again. "It went well, I even met a new one, a greyhound" he said with a smile. "She directed me to Solosa, and thanks to her knowledge we can rest in peace" he nuzzled her again. "Solosa will send a loner if she has any worrying news to tell us" he added.

Fang was relieved that they had only run into one issue on their patrol, the swifter the report, the sooner they could go walking together. His own eyes widened slightly and his tail stiffened. "I smell coyote" he growled. Drake looked over and nodded to them "A Wild Yellow snuck into camp and attempted to attack the Luna and her pups. Our Alpha returned in time to chase it away" he said gravely. Fang growled at this. The idea of a Wild Yellow sneaking into their camp so boldly! "May we speak with the Alpha?" he questioned after a moment. Drake paused "Give me a moment" he said, ducking his head back into the den. "Guards Fang and Clover have returned and wish to have swift council with you" he said almost apologetically.

Bella smiled. “Well that is very nice of her” she said. She looked up when Drakes head appeared. “Can they speak with you in here my love?” Bella asked, hopefully. When Thunder nodded, Bella smiled. “Send them in Drake” Bella said swiftly, dipping her head to each of them as they padded in.

Clover smiled and padded in beside Fang. Dipping her head respectfully to her alpha and his mate.

Thunder nodded, then nuzzled her "Of course my darling" he said, then looked up as Drake moved back and spoke to the two guards, who entered a moment later. Fang bowed low to the two as Thunder dipped his head to them as well. "Fang, Clover, What do you wish to speak to me of on this patrol?" he questioned. Fang spoke "We were on the eastern trail, halfway down. A lone Upright was walking." he said. Thunder gave a low growl in his throat. An Upright so close? They were getting bolder. "Did it see you?" he questioned.

Clover shook her head. “No” she said. “But Fang was very brave and he protected me” she said, blushing a little as she nuzzled Fang lovingly. Bell looked over at Thunder and a smile spread across her muzzle, and she licked her mates ear.

Fang looked over and blushed again as she spoke and nuzzled him. He briefly turned to give her a light nuzzle then turned to look over to his Alpha and Luna.

Thunder smiled as he saw the two together, turning to nuzzle his mate at her affectionate lick. He was always pleased to see his pack growing closer together, and more opportunities for the future of the pack. "Well then, I'm glad. I will have Askari and Lulu patrol tonight and advise them to stay on the eastern path the most" he said with a firm nod. Fang dipped his head to his Alpha, blushing again slightly. He knew his Alpha hadn't just been talking about the patrol. "You may go and rest now, eat if you need to" Thunder said, dismissing them.

Clover nodded and padded out of the den, dipping her head before she left. “Shall we go for our walk?” She asked, nuzzling him again.

Bella smiled and she nuzzled the pups. “They should get up soon. They won’t sleep tonight if we don’t get them up” Bella said

Fang bowed to his Alpha and Luna, then turned and padded out after Clover, a smile crossing his face at her nuzzle. He returned it briefly, still feeling slightly uncertain about showing such affection. "Yes, I think we can now" he said softly. "I want to know all about you, as much as you're willing to share" he said gently.

Thunder looked down and nodded with a chuckle. "Definitely, I do not want to be up in the middle of the night with energetic pups" he said, smiling at the small pile of sleeping puppies.

Brutus emerged from the forest and trotted over to the storage hole, dropping in one hopper and holding onto one for his Luna, watching as Snowflake did the same.

Clover beamed and nodded. “I found the perfect spot the other day” she said, flicking her tail. “Follow me” she said padding to the camp entrance.

Bella laughed. “They should nurse soon” she added. “Before bed at least” she said with another nuzzle to her mate and then pups. “Pups” Bella said.

Snowflake dropped a hopper in the hole. “Let’s bring these to Bella” she said.
