The problem is, when they escape, they all get caught by humans and are separated when the humans take them to the zoo. Knowing how much each of their friends mean to one and other, they need to figure out an escape plan....each of their own, as they haven't seen eachother in ages. Will the three friends manage to escape and get reunited...or will they stay trapped in the zoo forever and never see their best friends again?

Velvet stretched in her nest. Standing up, she poked her head outside. It was a beautiful morning…at least as beautiful as it could get when your pups were dead. Velvet sighed and padded out of the den, padding over to where she buried her two pups. She sat down, curling her tail over her paws. “Morning my pups” velvet said. “It’s been two months since your death.” Velvet looked down at her paws. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you” she said to them. Although she wasn’t even sure if they could hear her. Velvet sighed again, and stood up, looking around for something to eat. She padded to the stream and looked down into the water. She could see her reflection. “I don’t want a fish” she said to herself, standing up and looking around again.

Caido awoke as the morning sun glistened on his golden red coat, lifting his head and yawning widely before getting to his long legs, stretching and then striding out, looking around with a solemn expression. His eyes took in the trickling stream that ran through the edge of the forest, and the long golden grass waving in the prairie to the left. He needed to eat. Methodically he strode down the hill, picking up a swift pace as he moved through the tall grass, heading into the meadow in search of prey. As he moved, his thoughts moved along with him. He realized it had been a week since he had arrived at this territory. A week. The longest he had ever spent in one place since.... since SHE was taken from him. His ears swiveled and flattened behind his head, his eyes flashing with the pain of the memory. It was so sudden. With a violent shake of his head he thrust the thoughts away. He had promised himself not to ruminate on the past, only on the future. He had been following the direction she had been taken for so long... surely he would find her. He had to. But for now, it was good to have somewhere stable to find food. This place was plentiful in vegetation and critters, and a good place to recover from his frantic traveling. On that note... his large ears twitched as he dropped his head to the ground, a scurrying in the grasses catching his wide ranged hearing.

Storm Watcher woke early, just before the sun rose. She yawned and stretched quickly before slinking out of her den. The bramble patches served as a solid defence against anyone who didn't know the perfect way through. She was careful to stay low as she exited the thorny tunnel, there were always predators out to get her. She was especially vary of larger canines. Her parents had always taught her to avoid them, and every piece of advice they'd given her had so far proven true. She missed her earth. She'd always been safe there, with her parents and littermates. Even a year after leaving them, she still felt so alone. Her mother had promised her that one day she'd find a mate, and then she'd have her very own earth. That day was yet to come. She shook her head, then began to stalk through the tall grasses, her paws making very little noise. She was hyperalert of all her surroundings, she knew there was some kind of prey-animal nearby. A rabbit, perhaps? It smelled like it. Her ears swiveled around side to side, finally pinpointing her next meal. She noted the scent of another hunter. A canine. A maned wolf. But her rabbit was so, so close. The risk was worth it. She was only feet from the rabbit now, it was snuffling around the leafage, for berries, perhaps. She checked her position again, then she pushed off her haunches, launching herself at the prey. It didn't have a chance. She clamped her jaws around it's neck, and with a snap, it was all over. She quickly dragged her prey under a nearby bush and hid.

Velvet looked around and her eyes landed on a rabbit that was running through the grass. She turned, her gaze locked on the prey. She began to creep towards it. Her mouth now watering with every paw step she took. When she was close enough, Velvet leapt through the air and landed on the rabbit. She killed it with a swift bite to the neck, sitting up and trotting back to her den with the rabbit in her mouth. When she got back to her den, she put the rabbit down and sat down on her nest before she began eating her rabbit.

Caido was distracted from his hunt by a large rustling in the bushes, swiftly whipping his head over and scenting the air, then relaxing. Fox. No harm. He turned back to his own hunt, tilting his head to catch the sounds in the grasses. There, a rustle! Stepping forward, nose down, he suddenly found himself face to face with a medium sized brown snake. With a jerk he leapt back, head held high, just to be certain. The snake remained immovable, staring at him. He sighed. Well, when mother nature supplied... but snakes were really not on his list that day. Ah well. Waste not want not. With a sudden spring, he leapt a good three feet into the air twisting around to the head of the snake and landing, clamping his jaws around it's neck as it began writhing, attempting to wrap it's tail around him and by some miracle take him out instead. Without a pause he snapped his jaws together, severing the untasty head from the rest, and swiftly making short work of the flesh, ignoring the twitching head left behind. His hunt would be far from over.

Storm Watcher kept listening and scenting, making sure that the Maned Wolf wasn't growing any closer. She heard a crunch of paws, something writhing around in the grass, a snap- then silence. She wasn't going to take a chance that the predator was satisfied, so, snatching up her rabbit, she stalked away from the alarming scent and rustling sounds. She passed through a small brook, by then she felt safe enough to pause. With a huff, she shook her left hind leg, water spraying off it. She padded towards a cluster of rocks before shaking the other. She plopped the rabbit in a hidden gap in the boulders, crawling inside and curling herself into a comfortable sitting position. This was one of her favorite places to eat. It was right near the little stream, and she was surrounded on all three sides by boulders. It was practically a cave- she could easily hide while she ate, but she'd still know everything that was happening around her. She tore into her meal, her ears still flicking from side to side.

When Velvet finished eating her rabbit, she picked up the bones and padded out of her den, finding a good hole to hide them in. When Velvet found the hole, she put them in and then began scrapping earth over it. Then, Velvet looked around, and her hackles rose as she heard a twig snap. She turned around and looked to see if she saw anything. "Scar" She said. "I know that's you!" Velvet said. "Come out!" She said, ears flattening as the coyote who killed her pups padded into the opening. He sat down, and curled his tail over his paws. "give me more pups" he said. "So you can kill them again?" Velvet snapped. "Absolutely NOT!" She said. "why are you still here?" she asked him. "I told you, I want nothing to do with you, so just leave" Velvet said. Scar rolled his eyes. "whatever" he mumbled under his breath before he turned and stalked away. Velvet glared after him. She shook her head and then went back to padding towards the stream

Caido sniffed the ground, then lifted his head, scanning the prairie for a quiet moment. Suddenly, the sound of sharp, unnatural yips sounded in the distance, and his mane raised, his legs stiffening slightly. Coyotes. He could still remember the time when they had not been anywhere near his territory... and yet it had only taken a few being brought over by those hated two leggers to begin infesting the area. He glowered in the direction of the sounds. Although they were no drastic concern of his, he did not like the idea of any larger canines moving into any close proximity to him. Raising his head, he took in a deep breath then let out a deep rumbling roar-bark, letting it die down before barking again, and then again, warning all that this was HIS territory.. at least for the time being. After the third he let it die off, staying still for a few moments before turning away. Now that he had made his presence so known, it was an unfortunate knowledge that no prey would remain close enough for him to capture them that morning. The red tinted maned wolf began moving through the tall grass once again, this time heading his course for the edge of the forest. Perhaps some tender vegetation could satisfy the rest of his rumbling hunger.

Storm watcher froze as the high-pitched yips of coyote's echoed throughout the clearning. She shrunk back against the boulders, hidden from sight. She left the remains of her prey. Perhaps it would conceal her scent. Her pelt stood on end when she heard the bark of the Maned Wolf- it must be the one she'd scented earlier. The barks were deep and loud, likely made by a male. She pressed herself even harder against the boulders. Crunch. She could hear something. Crunch. It was not trying to stay quiet. Crunch. She scented the air, opening her jaw slightly, trying to tell what creature it was. Coyote. Female. She could either run or hide. A coyote could kill her easily. She muttered a curse, crouching low before darting out from the little cave. The coyote was right there. She cursed again at her clear mistake, rushing across the stream towards a thorn thicket.

Velvet's eyes landed on red fur. "fox" she whispered to herself. Velvet let out a snicker. "it thinks im going to kill it!" Velvet said to herself. "how nice" she said, padding towards the stream and ducking her head in for a long drink. When she finished, she looked around a bit, and found a half eaten rabbit. She snickered again, padding towards it and picking it up in her jaws, starting to eat the rest of it as she heard a loud bark. "maned wolf" she growled.

Caido reached the forests edge, and after a few moments of searching, he found, to his joy, a few shoots of fresh tender sugar cane! With a slightly pleased growl in his throat he snapped the stalk off with his strong teeth, laying down in the shade to gnaw on it with pleasure.

Storm Watcher reached the thorns quickly, she slowed slightly when she realized... the coyote hadn't followed. Ugh, my prey! She flicked her fluffy tail, annoyed. The mangy coyote was going to gobble up all her hard earned rabbit. I barely got any. She cautiously slunk back towards the stream, her face the picture of disgust when she saw the female snapping up the prey. She loosed a soft growl, glaring at the coyote as the female ate her catch.

When Velvet finished the prey, her ears pricked as she heard a soft growl. She looked around and once more, spotted the fox. "hi" Velvet said, sitting up on her paws. She looked at the fox again, but could tell something was off, so Velvet just stood up, and left

Caido licked his chops in a satisfied manner, dropping the mangled shell of the sugar cane he had made swift work of and getting to his long legs, rising to his full three feet height and stretching, then shaking out his fur, glancing around. Time for a drink, he desperately needed one... and maybe an unsuspecting fish would happen by! That would make his meal wonderfully complete. Turning towards the trickling sound of the stream, he began pacing towards it, loping along in his rocking manner.
