Lockian looked up with surprise, how did she know what he was thinking. He smiled ruefully, ''how can one pass by without noticing him,'' he said with a small laugh, ''though I was under the impression that it was a mare, reminded me a lot of a banshee. But makes sense that he was a stallion with the crazed way he was acting. He would definitely make a good destrier if properly trained,'' Lockian said, though he had his doubts about that angry knight he had seen earlier would do a good job of it. ''Hmm he is fairly new then,'' Lockian said after hearing Caldur's statement.

"He's definitely a real spirited animal... loud too. And he certainly doesn't seem fond of the stable hands. I saw him near well take a couple of fingers off one of them. Can't say I'm blame him though." Cass says. She'd probably want to do the same if she was in the same position. It couldn't be any fun to be broke to saddle. He seemed like a young horse, and likely not one that was handled from the time he was a foal. "He definitely looks like has the makings to be a fine warhorse, though it would be a shame to see him lose his wild streak" she says. Maybe it was just because in many ways, the horse's prickly nature reminded her of herself, but she definitely was fond of that horse.

''Aye he is,'' Lockian agreed, ''that voice of his screams as loud as any banshee, though honestly I think that he was abused when he was younger which now fuels his fear and hatred for humans,'' though that is just what he thought, he didn't know anything of the stallion's past. ''His rebelliousness to human touch does indeed give one a certain longing,'' he said nodding, ''but in a practical sense it is good for him to be broken, he would have a miserable life just being led from pasture to stall to pasture day by day,'' he liked the horse, he liked it a lot and could not bear the thought of it being ruined by some careless knight trying to train him without a large amount of patience and a good attitude, both things he didn't think the knight he had seen earlier possessed. He sighed inwardly, this was how it was to be.

"Might be that he was... poor fellow. No animal deserves that. Hopefully someone here will be able to get through to him. He'll need patience and a gentle hand. That much is for certain." Cass says. She wasn't sure who Lord Addaway had set to train the horse. But none of the stable hands seemed to be qualified to handle such an ornery animal. It would be all to easy to make things far worse with that horse if one didn't go about it in the right way. With any luck though, the right person would be found for the job and that horse would have a good life going forward. He could make a fine warhorse with his spirit, and he wouldn't have to lose that fire in that case.

''Hopefully,'' Lockian said lost in thought. Maybe... no, the horse belonged to someone else and they would have to figure out the breaking and training. Maybe Lockian could speak with him later on, it certainly wouldn't hurt, though he didn't know if that short tempered man would be inclined to speak with anyone, or if anyone could even get decent conversation from him, Lockian though remembering a few snippets of the things the knight had been saying to the groom. We'll see, besides he didn't have time at the moment anyway.

"Copper for your thoughts?" Cass asks, quirking an eyebrow slightly. He seemed to be lost in thought about something, likely the stallion she mused. It probably belonged to Lord Addaway. Most of the horses in the stables probably did. Although she was fairly certain that the one mare in the barn probably belonged to his daughter. It was the daintiest looking horse in the stables, clearly not meant to be a warhorse like the blood bay stallion. It's coat was as white as freshly fallen snow and it's mane was braided from what she could remember. It definitely seemed much more like it was bred to be a noble lady's horse. She had nothing against that, but she was definitely more fond of the wild looking warhorses.

''Nothing really,'' Lockian said breaking from his reverie, ''I just dont think the knight I saw earlier, if the horse is indeed his, will do very well training him... Ah whatever, the horse isn't mine so it isn't my place to discuss what a man wants to do with his property. But they certainly do have a lot of extraordinary horses here.'' His stomach contacted suddenly in hunger, he grinned, ''hopefully this lord serves a nice spread,'' he said in a low voice so that only Cassidy could hear what he said.

"Chances are the stallion belongs to Lord Addaway, most of the horses in the stables seem to. But he might have hired a knight to break him in... though I think that horse will be more than her bargained for if he was indeed trained to hire him. That's a mighty strong beast... well muscled and with fire in his eyes." Cass says. It would honestly be pretty amusing to see that knight have his just desserts. She hadn't spoken with him, but she had seen him in passing during her early morning stroll and he had seemed like a right piece of work. Whether or not she knew him before, she wasn't sure. "I suppose we'll find out" she says quietly as she sees Calder open the door to the dining hall for them.

''You may be right,'' Lockian said with a shrug, ''wouldn't matter anyway, I have no experience training horses so I would not be able to tell anyone if they are doing a thing right or wrong. Either way I hope the lord knows what he has.'' He followed Caldur into the dining hall. He wondered if any others of the lord Addaway's family would be dining with them or if this was to be a private meal. Either way he'd be eating and at the moment that was the most important thing to him at the moment.

"Hopefully... that horse needs someone who's willing to be patient with him. He'll need time and likely lots of it. Phantom will probably need some training as well if you wish to use him as a warhorse. He needs to be slowly acclimated to the din and sounds of battle, even if he wouldn't be in the heat of the fray since archers primarily avoid the frontlines." Cass says. Phantom would probably get there with some work. He was an easygoing horse, unlike the blood bay. He'd probably be easy enough to train. Lord Addaway stood as he saw the two enter. "Please, have a seat. My wife and daughter will be here shortly, but I'm sure you two must be hungry. I didn't see either of you at supper last night" he says.

''I suppose we shall see,'' Lockian said shrugging. ''Ah but that's where you are wrong,'' but he was unable to continue with his explanation of the finer points of calvery and archery since they were addressed by the the lord, ''my humble thanks,'' Lockian said bowing, and standing behind the his chair which was one down from the left hand of the lord. ''No we didn't attend the meal as Cassidy and I were very tired from the long journey we had taken to come here,'' he said in polite tones.

"That's understandable... I'm not sure where you two are arriving for, but I can imagine it must have been a long journey." Lord Addaway says as he takes his seat again. It was a mystery to him just where Cass had gone in time that she was away, it had been nearly a year since they had seen her. And she had returned with a new face on top of that and seemingly no memory of her past. It was a strange occurrence to say the least. "I'm sure you two probably have plenty of questions, if you'd like to ask any prior to the arrival of my wife and daughter, please feel free to. I'll do my best to answer any questions you might have" he says.

Lockian looked at Cassidy, most of the questions belonged to her so he remained silent. Later on he would see about meeting the captain of the guard for details on the position he was inquiring about, but till then he would just have to wait and see what would happen after their morning meal. And he was very glad to say that it was quite the spread was enormous, at least from what he was used to, quite honestly he could not wait till the arrival of the lords family so they could begin.

"I wouldn't no where to begin... there's so much I'm missing. I'm at a loss honestly." Cass says when Lockian looks over to her. "I suppose the best place to begin would be with with my former career... what exactly did I do? You mentioned returning to my former post earlier. But I don't know what that was" she says. "You were my daughter's personal guard, hired to protect her from any manner of threats. I trust you'll resume that position now? She has been missing you terribly since we lost you around this time last year." Lord Addaway says. She appeared to be mostly unchanged from the last time he had seen her... though something was different. He couldn't quite place his finger on it. She seemed off somehow though. Maybe it was just the disconnect she was feeling. "I suppose... if you are still in need of my services. I will return to my post" she says. She would have thought that she was a knight with the honorific Calder had used to greet her. But it would seem she had been a bodyguard of sorts instead. Though she supposed that would explain the scars too.

Lockian remembered the lord Addaway saying something of the sort earlier but now that he had stated it plainly a lot more things made sense. It seemed to be a high position, one given to warriors of great rank, as the term Caldur had used earlier seemed to imply. And explained why her quarters were so near the noble family and not near the wall like the barracks and the armor and weapons in her room.
