"Wonderful, Sylvia will be most pleased to hear that. She'll likely be down shortly." Lord Addaway says. He wasn't sure why his daughter had gotten so inexplicably attached to Cass... she seemed about as friendly as that new stallion. But she an effective fighter, and had gotten his daughter home safe from multiple excursions gone awry. He knew he'd feel better about his daughter's safety now that she was back. He turns his attention over to Lockian as Cass moves to take a sip from her coffee, drinking it black as she always had before. "And you're looking to join the guard correct? I'll introduce you to the captain of the guard at some point today. He can get you started" he says.

Lockian looked back, ''Yes I am,'' he responded nodding once, ''I would greatly appreciate that Lord. Do you have any feuds with rival castles in these days, or raiders from the sea,'' he asked wondering if they were going to see action soon. He was quite surprised and a bit confused as to why the lord Addaway would show him such favor, all he wanted was to be an archer, but he appreciated the notice nonetheless. He mixed his tea before taking a drink. Normally he would take coffee but for some reason an herbal drink just sounded good to him, especially on such a chilly day as this one was.

"Tensions are high everywhere these days it seems... don't know why. But everyone is on edge from the other lords in the area and ever the raiders that come in from the sea. We could certainly use all the able bodies we can get to wield weapons." Lord Addaway says. He wasn't sure what was responsible for all of the tension in the area. Reports of strange happenings have come in from different towns across the land. He had heard whispers from Stormhaven as well about some sort of sea monster. What the truth of the matter was, he wasn't sure.

Lockian rubbed his bearded chin with his hand, ''well, I hope that I will be able to be of assistance,'' he answered with a slight bow of his head. From what Lord Addaway said it didn't seem like there were any standing feuds between him and anyone else at the moment which was good, but Lockian knew all to well how that could change in a moments time. He took another drink from his cup, relishing the warmth it gave, enjoying it while he could before he would have to go back outside and into the cold to begin his work. As mentioned before the cold did not bother him much but at the moment sitting and drinking warm liquid did not put the will into him.

"I'm sure you will be. Every person adds up." Lord Addaway says, glancing at Cass. He couldn't tell what she was thinking. Her mismatched gaze was as steely as ever, but it gave nothing away. He supposed that was nothing new though. She would periodically take a sip of the dark liquid in her cup, but beyond that she seemed to just be observing the situation without much of a reaction. Though he supposed he could chalk that up to the fact that it was a lot to take in after apparently losing any trace of her past self.

Lockian nodded in agreement, this was of course quite true. Lockian glanced out a window to the rather bleak weather outside. He honestly wasn't ready for any snow but it was still early fall after all so hopefully they wouldn't have to worry about that at the moment. Cassidy wasn't saying much so Lockian just assumed she was still tired from their long trip and needed to catch up on some rest, she had after all gotten up much earlier than he that morning.

"For now though, please feel free to settle in, explore the place as much as you'd like. We'll get you settled into your new position with time. But I'm sure you must be tired still after such a long journey." Lord Addaway says, following Lockian's gaze over to the window. It looked like they were in for snow soon enough. It seemed like it was going to be a short autumn and a long winter. That wasn't unusual though.

''You are very generous Lord Addaway,'' Lockian answered, ''not terribly, no, just a little sore is all, but that of course will pass quickly.'' He wondered when the lord's family would arrive, and if Cassidy would in the end remember the lord's daughter, from what he heard it seemed like the two used to be quite close, but at this point he wasn't so sure, it seemed like her mind blank was quite complete. But the girl would most likely remember her guardian.

"I try to be... everyone here is doing me a great service. It's only right I treat them all with courtesy." Lord Addaway says, turning his gaze over to the door as his wife and daughter enter the room. He could see his daughter's face light up when she notices Cass nursing her cup of coffee. Though there was little reaction from Cass. Whatever she might be thinking, she kept it hidden behind lock and key. That had always been normal for her though.

From Cassidy's lack of reaction Lockian deemed that she was indeed quite bushed from their journey, he wondered briefly if she would go and take a rest after they had finished the morning meal. Although from the girl's expression it seemed quite clear that she recognized who Cassidy was immediately. He had not a chance to ask Cassidy if she were going to take up the job again, it would be a good opportunity, but it was up to Cassidy of course.

Cass stiffens slightly when the younger woman immediately enveloped her in a very eager hug. She looked all but a child next to Cass' stern countenance. Had she been standing, the top of the younger woman's head would be level with Cass' shoulders. At the less than enthusiastic reaction, the younger frowns slightly. Cass had never been over friendly, but she had been warmer than this once she had managed to break through her walls. "Don't you remember me?" She asks. "I'm afraid I don't" Cass replies flatly.

Though he would never admit it, Lockian had to strain to hide a smile at Cassidy's reaction to the daughter's greeting. It was a little funny to see the stern Cassidy embraced by a very enthusiastic younger girl. He was not surprised that Cassidy did not remember her but perhaps with time she would regain a few of her lost memories. He finished off the last few gulps of his tea.

Lord Addaway gently pulls his daughter off of Cass when he sees how stiff she had gone. Had she been better at picking up on social cues... his daughter probably would have reliazed that Cass wasn't quite comfortable with the embrace. She wasn't exactly subtle about it, though to her credit, she did put up with it. For as long as he could remember, she had never quite been comfortable with touch. He didn't know why, but he got the feeling that she had been touch-starved as a child since she never seemed to know how to react. "Give her some space kiddo, she only arrived last night" he says gently.

Despite himself Lockian felt a little sorry for the young girl, she was only remembering how things were before, but besides the point, Cassidy wasn't one to up and show open affection to anyway. Though as a whole the Lord Addaway's daughter seemed like a nice enough girl, just over excited about seeing a friend she had not seen for a long time. His mind wandered to the calvery regiment he was hoping to goin, he wondered what sort of men he was going to be placed with and if he would enjoy being around them.

Once the meal had concluded and his family had left the room, Lord Addaway turns his gaze back over to Cass and Lockian. "If either of you need anything at any point, please let me know. For now, I'll give you both time to settle in" he says. He did want to talk to his daughter as well later but first he needed to be sure that the two were settling in well. It was a big castle, a new one for Lockian and seemingly one Cass wouldn't remember.
