Lockian could not think of anything he was in want of so he shook his head and bowed, ''no my lord you have provided amply,'' he said speaking for himself. He was especially glad of the large meal they had just eaten, his energy felt replenished and he believed he was ready for anything. The castle was indeed big, he couldn't wait till he began his job, and could start looking over its defenses and studying its strengths and weaknesses, these things were of interest to him ever since he was a young lad.

Once Lord Addaway had left the dining hall, Cass rises to her feet with a quiet sigh. She wasn't sure what to feel at the moment. This was allegedly the place she used to call home. And yet... she felt nothing. There was just this sense of disconnect. And it was eating away at her. She didn't remember this place, or any of these people.

Lockian followed her actions and stood as well. ''What are you thinking about,'' he asked Cassidy. She didn't seem to be enjoying herself much at the lord Addaway's. In fact it even seemed that she was more animated during their journey than when they had actually arrived.

"I don't know... anything and everything I suppose. My whole life is just... gone. It's a lot to take in." Cass says quietly. She wasn't even sure who she was. All she knew was that she had been a bodyguard of sorts, but she had apparently left at one point. But that told her very little about herself as a person.

''Really,'' Lockian asked leaning forward against his chair, ''I would assume that it was restarted, your back from where your from, doing whet you used to do, and you probably enjoy the type of work besides,'' he said, ''but no doubt it is quite a lot to take in.''

"It's not what I was expecting... I'm apparently a glorified babysitter. It's not as though noblewomen are regularly in positions where they need protecting. But it's a job, an income. Even if I feel completely disconnected from all of it." Cass says. It did eat away at her that these people seemed to know her when she couldn't remember a thing about them. Though from what she could see, it seemed Lord Addaway's daughter would be oblivious to her boundaries, albeit their didn't seem to be any malicious intent. But she hadn't let go until her father had prompted her to.

''It's a good job though,'' Lockian pointed out, ''personal body guards generally get paid a lot more than general soldiers,'' he said with a wry smile, ''of course this is taking it at a practical stance, but maybe you should arrange to have a sit-down discussion with the lord and ask him to tell you of your past, explain things to him and see if he could fill you in on some things, maybe even ask if he has proof that you were ever here. That was one thing that would never leave his mind, what if this were just one big trick and conspiracy against them, but what reason anyone would have to do such thing Lockian didn't know.

"True... I suppose it is a good job. In terms of payment anyway. Probably best to just stick it out and see how it goes. Even if he's lying about my past, I've got nothing to lose. If he is lying the only motive I could think of would be desperation for able bodied soldiers. Though if he were lying, then I don't know where he would have known my surname from." Cass says. She supposed it wouldn't hurt to see if he had any answers about her past. Though it seemed like he hadn't a clue where she had gone either or how she had ended up like this.

''Quite true,'' Lockian said, ''and maybe that is his motive after all, though he didn't act it. But I also will mention,'' he said with a slight laugh, ''maybe he is telling the truth, the past doesn't make all who we meet liars, perhaps at one point in time you actually were friends with that young girl.'' His legs shifter a little and his arms changed position once or twice from inactivity, ''when do you think you will ask him? About your past I mean,'' he asked Cassidy.

"I don't know... maybe. I suppose it's a possibility. Though I'm a lot older than she is, so I doubt we knew one another when I was a kid." Cass says. She had no idea what her childhood was like though, so she couldn't write off the possibility entirely. "In a few days perhaps... give myself time to settle back into my job first" she says.

''That is probably wisest,'' Lockian agreed, to relieve some of the energy tensed up in his body he walked to the window and looked out, though his body still fidgeted. He saw some men at arms training in the distance and a few lancers practicing maneuvers. ''When do you think we get to officially start,'' he asked watching the body of horsemen acutely.

"Probably a couple of days at least... give us some time to heal properly." Cass says. She wasn't sure exactly how badly Lockian had been injured but his arm looked like it had been cut pretty badly. She definitely needed a bit of time to heal, especially since a few of her wounds were infected. It wasn't ideal to begin work before that.

Lockian nodded, he had to admit this was wise advice, he hadn't even tried shooting his bow after his arm injury, ''that is true,'' Lockian agreed. He watched a few flurries slowly wind their way downwards. ''I think I will go down to the stables,'' he said suddenly, ''I should check and make sure that Phantom's water hasn't frozen from this cold weather, maybe I should even turn him out to pasture,'' another glance outside revoked that statement, ''on second thought perhaps I will only look in on his water.''

"I'll come with. I'd like to get another look at that blood bay." Cass says as she watches the snow. It wasn't even quite autumn yet and already the first snowflakes were falling. The first blizzard probably wasn't far off. They were in for a brutal winter she mused. She'd have to see if she had a thicker, warmer pair of gloves in her room or purchase a new pair. Already her crippled arm was already rueing the cold weather and it was only starting.

Lockian nodded and and strode swiftly towards the door and soon the both of them were out in the biting weather. Lockian hunched over in his collar to try and keep out the cold from his face. Luckily the stables were not far off and they were given relief from the wind within its heavy walls. Lockian swiftly found Phantom's stall, at his approach the horse flickered an eye open, for it had been sleeping, but it closed again and the grey horse fell back asleep.
