Lockian nodded. The horse would be quite a bit of money, but perhaps since he was already gaining a reputation of being “untrainable” the Lord Addaway would be willing to let him go for cheaper. Lockian thought back to Phantom and how slow and monotonous the grey horse was, he would probably make a god war horse but he didn’t have the spirit for it. Lockian could even picture the horse chewing contemplatively at some grass while a full scale battle waged around him. He smiled to himself at the idea of it, maybe Phantom just needed to rest up a bit more, he thought to himself.

"Where were you thinking of heading first? You mentioned wanting to check out both the armory and the training grounds." Cass says, glancing once more at the fiery stallion. He was sticking his head out of his stall, watching her with something bordering on curiosity. Most of the stable hands and the knight set to training him seemed to deem the stallion to be 'untrainable,' but she doubted that. He definitely had potential, he just needed patience to be able to bring that out after whatever he had been put through. It would take time, but if she could purchase him, she was fairly confident that she could break him to saddle without having to break his sprit. The last thing she wanted to get rid of his fiery spirit when that was what had drawn her to him in the first place. The rest of training for war could come after the basics.

“Armory probably,” Lockian answered, “though I’m sure the two would most likely be close together.” He looked up at the horse who no longer looked nearly as wild as it had a few minutes ago, “if you would like to stay with him and get to know him better,” Lockian indicated the blood bay, “I don’t mind going by myself, but that is only if you would rather stay, you are most welcome to come as well,” he told Cassidy.

"I'll come with, this fellow could probably use some time to decompress anyway. And it will probably do me good to get reacquainted with this place as well" Cass says. She fully expected progress to be slow with the stallion. Clearly he had been through a lot and she wasn't going to expect a major breakthrough overnight. He needed time and patience to fully accept that not all people had it out for him. And that foundation of trust needed to be built before she could do anything else with him. But little bit by little bit, with a bit of hands on work each day, she had no doubt that he would be to be a sound war horse. His fiery disposition would suit him well there.

Lockian nodded and opened the door, “the snow and wind has let up and the sun is coming back out so it should be warmer now, at least a little.” He walked out into the fresh air, “I’m assuming that it would be near the barracks,” he suggested never having seen a map of the castle made things a little more difficult but he assumed that that would probably be the first logical place to look. The air still had its winters-on-the-way nip but overall Lockian liked the fresh feel of it.

"Hopefully... though it seems like we're probably in for a brutal winter if it's already starting this early." Cass says, slipping her right hand into one of the pockets on her trousers. Her left she would keep free to use, but she knew her right would benefit from the extra warmth. The pair of gloves she currently had were not made to conserve much warmth since they seemed to be more for use in spring and summer. She'd need to get a better pair before winter truly arrived. "That would make sense... probably the best place to check first. And if it turns out it's elsewhere, well we can cross that bridge if we come to it" she says. She had no clue where anything here was anymore, but since soldiers would be using the armory the most, it made sense for it to be near the barracks.

Lockian nodded, ''I agree with you,'' he said looking up into the now crystal clear blue sky. ''Indeed,'' he said as they headed in the direction of the barracks which could easily be seen as it went right up against the wall of the castle. He was very interested in how the training arena was set up, it size, and how it accommodated all the knights, or if it didn't. Lockian shivered slightly in the chill as the trudged towards the barracks, making a path through the thin sheet of freshly fallen show.

"Definitely chilly... and it's barely autumn." Cass says, glancing down at the thin sheet of snow covering the ground. Thankfully the cloak she had donned this morning seemed to keep the worst of the cold out. For their to be snow, the temperatures out here had to be below freezing. Thankfully the sun was out though, providing at least a modicum of warmth.

''Yes, and that does not bode well for the future,'' Lockian said. The barracks soon came closer to view and Lockian spotted a building that did seem like it would contain a training arena. And it did, it was a large and spacious area floored with sand, along one wall stood neatly hung or stacked, a large array of training weapons. The middle was large enough for several horses to practice menuvers and the far wall stood lined wooden archer's targets set up at various hights and distances. He would have to try out practicing here sometime, Lockian though to himself

"Too true... all that snow is going to make getting anywhere a challenge. Not to mention the cold." Cass says. "On a brighter note... this seems like a good setup. There's plenty of space to train" she says, her mismatched eyes studying the training arena. It was certainly spacious, with enough room for several large horses to move about. And there was a space for either sparring with a partner for practice, or to set up those straw targets for practice with a sword.

''It is. The lord Addaway certainly does seem to take care of those under him, I will probably enjoy training here.'' There were a few knights about the place but they didn't seem to notice the newcomers yet, he watched for a moment the archers as they pelted the distant targets. with long-range bows, they seemed pretty good, most of them at least. He tried searching for that knight he had met the other day, Danen, but he didn't seem to be around the arena.

"Looking for someone in particular?" Cass asks, following his gaze around the facilities. Chances seemed to be that at some point she had known most of the people here, aside from the new hires since she had apparently been gone about a year. She remembered none of them though. So it wasn't as though she could be of much help if he was indeed looking for someone. Well aside from looking for someone matching a description anyway.

Lockian shrugged, ''I met a fellow the other day, he seemed pleasant and I was just wondering if he would be about here. He said he was named Danen, but it doesn't seem like he's here,'' Lockian answered glancing about once more to reassurance to himself of this fact. He didn't know where Danen was employed, as a fact he didn't even remember if Danen had the rank of knight.

"I'd offer to check for you, but I haven't a clue who that might be." Cass says. If she had an idea of what this Danen might look like, then she might have been able to be of some help. But sadly she didn't currently have access to such information. Either this young man was hired after she had left, or she just didn't remember him. She couldn't be sure which one it was. Though she supposed at this point she would just have to accept that. What else could she do beside pick herself up and try to build a new life for herself.
