Lockian shrugged, ''its fine, I'll find him again some time or other,'' he said looking over at a few fencing men. Since they weren't in battle hardly any of the men were wearing any actual armor, the sword fights weren't to the death after all. ''What do you say we continue to the armory,'' he asked after one of the duels ended, the looser on the ground and his sword laying out of reach, the victor reached down and helped his opponent up, slapping him on the back in a friendly manner while the other grinned ruefully, Lockian could not hear what the two were saying but he could tell that those two men were friends.

Cass nods slightly, letting her arm fall back to her side again. "The armory shouldn't be too far from the training arena" she says. From the state of the training arena, she had hope for the armory. Hopefully it would be well organized. That was essential for being able to quickly grab weapons in the heat of a scenario where an invasion was taking place. Though it seemed like she kept her weapons in her room with her anyway since there were mounts on the wall for two swords. She probably had kept them there for ease of access given how far the rooms seemed to be from the area where the soldiers lived and worked.

Lockian turned his attention back to Cassidy, “it shouldn’t,” he agreed as they walked out of the arena, the sound of clashing swords and twanging bows slowing fading out behind them. They came across a building that was attached to the arena by a rough stone paved courtyard, there were not many people sitting around there since most were trying to stay away from the sudden cold weather that came upon them.

"Looks like that building must be it." Cass says, pulling her cloak shut around herself as a particularly cold breeze blew through the area. It seemed like most people were huddling up inside rather than braving the frigid air outside. Probably a wise idea, but they wouldn't get better acquainted with this place by staying huddled up inside where it was warm. As much as she would appreciate a roaring fire and a cup of mulled wine right about now, she knew that exploring and getting to know the place was the best course of action at the moment, as much as her crippled arm protested the decision to be out and about with only a thin pair of gloves and her pocket for warmth.

Lockian looked away from the snow covered statues in the cold courtyard and turned his gave in the direction Cassidy was speaking of, ''looks like it,'' he answered. It did look like an armory, he thought as they walked toward it, its highly fortified architecture and dark, undecorative appearance certainly made it seem so. He breathed in the premature chill deeply, this was the type of weather that made him feel like galloping a horse through a dark forest path, he could already imagine the spray of snow from beneath flying hooves, hardly feeling the cold of the sharp weather on his face.

Cass reaches out to lift up the heavy wooden bar holding the door shut. "Hopefully it'll be well organized" she says as she opens the door up. Organized chaos would work as well she supposed. Though just organized without the cahos would be preferable since it would be easier to find things that way. Though it seemed like she hadn't made use of the armory in the past, instead opting to store her weapons and armor in her quarters.

Lockian entered the armory and glanced about briefly, almost as soon as the crossed the threshold a large and large and broad shouldered man approached them quickly, he had a suspicious eye and an alert posture, “what do you need,” he asked quickly, though he didn’t say it rudely he just seemed wary and careful, not the type that would immediately strike up small talk with a stranger.

"We're just getting a feel for the place, no need to worry." Cass says. She wasn't sure if she had known this person before, or if he was a new hire. Though considering how wary he seemed of them, she doubted that she could have known him in the past. Or if she had, he didn't seem to recognize her either. She wasn't sure why he was so wary of them. Was it simply because they were armed? But... they were in a building full of weapons, he could easily grab one if that was the case. Maybe he was just shy she mused. Though he had quickly approached them. Though she supposed it didn't matter why he was wary, ruminating on the possibilities would do no good. It was probably best that whomever was on duty here was watchful of anyone who came in.

The older man looked down at Cassidy and scrutinized her, “oh ya I think I remember you.” He looked at Lockian and nodded and spoke to the both of them, “there has been some thievery going on about,” he said with a slight grow in his voice, “lost a quiver full of arrows and a good long knife. I got to be careful of strangers,” he said giving Lockian another hard glance. Lockian endured it without flinching.

"That makes one of us I suppose." Cass says. She couldn't remember him for the life of her. Though what could have caused that remained a mystery and likely would continue to. She turns her head slightly following the man's gaze over to Lockian. "I suppose that's to be expected... air feels tense wherever you go. People are more likely to resort to unsavory acts when times get desperate. But he's with me, not a thief" she says. She wasn't sure what was going on to cause the air to be so thick that it almost felt like one could cut it with a knife. She could recall Lockian mentioning some 'king of the undertow' when they first met, but he hadn't elaborated at the time. Perhaps that had something to do with it, or perhaps it was merely a symptom alluding to a greater sickness plaguing the kingdom. She'd have to ask him about it later, see if she could get any answers.

''I am not a thief,'' Lockian said strongly and meeting the much older man's gaze evenly. The armory keeper merely looked at him then turned back to Cassidy, ''quite true, the only odd thing about it is that this isn't the only place items were stolen from, the kitchen missed some provisions and there were a few other random things taken here and there, almost had a horse stolen a couple of weeks ago, luckily the fellow failed but he still escaped,'' he looked around the armory, ''that's why I keep double vigilance, the Lord Addaway is rich but we can afford stolen weapons, no matter how minor the thievery.''

"Curious... don't know that I'd call it odd though. There's a pattern... thief clearly wanted to hit the road. Weapons to protect themselves, provisions for the road and a horse for transportation. Most likely an inside Jon, a new hire perhaps who was trying to flee the kingdom with how tense things have been." Cass observes. That was her two coppers anyway, though it could be a different situation entirely. "Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for anything suspicious, show any thieves what's what if I catch them" she says.

''The more people on the look out the better,'' the man said, ''he is a slippery fellow and shrewd too. There is an arrest warrant out for him in fact, a very good sum set for his securing. Dont know if he is dangerous like bloody, but as I said he's shrewd and all know that self preservation as of upmost importance to these types. He isn't in the villagers good graces either, always getting into fights but no one can ever get their hands on him or really catch a glimpse of his appearance in the open, always swathed in a cloak of a dark colored yet light weight material. He's also been hanging around the place for a while and has made no sign that he plans on leaving.''

"He'll be caught eventually... nobody can run from their problems forever however shrewd they might be. It'll come back to bite him eventually." Cassius says. She'd definitely keep an eye out for this wanted man. If she could catch him, then she'd likely have enough money to put down a payment for that blood bay stallion, assuming Lord Addaway was indeed willing to sell him. She turns her gaze back over to Lockian. "Anywhere you'd like to check out?" She asks. She'd have to find a time to ask about that 'king of the undertow', but that was probably best saved for when they were not on the move and exploring the land here.

“Hopefully the menace will be be put behind irons soon,” he said planting a fist forcefully into the other palm of his other hand. Lockian glanced around the room, “just wanted to give it a quick look and see how all is. I am ready to leave now though,” he answered turning back towards the door after giving a nod to the armory keeper who returned the farewell in the same manner.
