"It certainly could be. We only have speculation to go off of at the moment after all." Cass says, refilling her goblet with more of the cider. At the moment, it was more or less just something to occupy her mind with. If she had something to focus on then it distracted her from the vast nothingness that was her past. Whether or not it was a crazed beast or a symptom of a greater sickness in the kingdom, she had no way of knowing. But it could be interesting to speculate on what might be behind all of it, even if it was nothing more at the moment.

Lockian stretched out his long legs and crossed them comfortably, scuffing some dirt from his well-worn and travel stained boots. He shrugged, Cassidy was right, all they could do at the moment was make guesses and assumptions, but he had been used to hearing constant tales of the monster, his movements, and the contradicting reports on his appearance that it was strange to him for someone to have never heard of 'the king of the undertow' and talk about it as if it was something entirely new. It did wake his mind a bit though, perhaps there was something more to this sea creature than he had at first assumed.

With her goblet filled once more, Cass takes a seat back in the other armchair again. She takes a long sip from her goblet as she leans back against the back of the armchair. The warmth of the fire was definitely welcome. Though she knew she'd need to go out and get more firewood soon. Once she had drained her goblet, she sets it down on the table and reaches for her cloak to slip it on. "Best get some more firewood. Did you still want to come?" She asks. With two of them, they could probably carry more wood in a single trip.

Lockian opened his eyes and sat up quickly, glancing down at the dying embers, ''yes we should,'' he said standing up and stretching. Lockian didn't bother getting any thicker clothing on, the work would probably warm him up pretty quickly.

"I suppose as long as you're careful, it shouldn't break open again. But using an axe does require a lot of force." Cass says as she opens the door to step outside. They would need to see about grabbing two axes on the way out. She hadn't gotten a great look at his arm before he had gotten it stitched up, but the cut had looked pretty bad. But they would need to make do. They needed firewood after all and it would go faster with two people working on it.

Lockian laughed, ''aye no one knows it more than I,'' he said remembering the long evenings he spent swinging a hatchet for the woodbox of the tavern keeper, ''plus, it isn't the hardest thing ive ever done,'' he said with a shrug, he figured his arm would be fine, he had been pretty immobile that day and he didn't want to start getting soft, the work would do him good, besides he liked working.

"Should be even easier with two people." Cass says. She wasn't sure how her shoulder would take it. But it was bandaged tightly, so in the event that she tore any stitches, the bandages would help the blood clot. She didn't anticipate that would happen, but it was always best to be aware of the risk.

''I can do it all,'' Lockian said, ''after all we only need enough for our small hearth,'' he said gesturing back. His arm seemed to be healing cleanly and he would probably take the stitches out in a couple of weeks, quite honestly he was getting quite irritated with them and was ready to get the things out.

"You don't have to do all of it. We'll be done faster if we work together. And the sooner we're done, the sooner we'll be back inside by the hearth." Cass says as she picks up an axe, slipping it into a sheathe on her back to carry it. They would need to head out into the woods, so it would be a bit of a walk.

Lockian nodded, “alright, besides two’s a company and the forest will be rather gloomy this time of day,” he said as he grabbed himself his own hatchet testing the head with his fingertip to feel the sharpness and, deeming it serviceable, walked out the door after Cassidy and closed it behind himself.

"Hopefully there will be enough dry wood... between the recent wood and now the snow, a lot of it is probably too wet to ignite easily. We'll have to see what we can find." Cass says as begins to make her way down the stairs. They'd probably do well to find some kindling as well, small sticks, dead grass, whatever they could find. The last snow hadn't stuck on the ground, so they wouldn't have to dig to find it thankfully. Though she knew it wouldn't be long before the snow would stick around instead of melting quickly.

“If we go deep enough we should probably find a lot more,” he suggested though this did depend on what sort of woods these were. He pulled his collar up as an icy wind whipped into him upon stepping through the castle entrance, it had to be below freezing, or at least very near it, he thought as another southbound wind curled around him in its cold embrace.

"We should hopefully be able to find enough. It's a big forest from the looks of it." Cass says pausing. "You want a cloak?" She asks, seeing him pull his collar up as a brutally cold breeze cut through the area. If it wasn't below freezing yet, it was getting close to it. Chances were that once the sun set, the temperatures would dip below freezing if it hadn't already. He didn't seem to have put on any extra layers when they left.

“It does seem so,” he said looking towards the the dark green expanse that stretched seemingly endlessly across the well kept lawns that surrounded the castle. He shook his head, “no I’ll be fine, it is harder for me to swing an axe whilst wearing a cloak anyway,” Lockian explained, the the walk, work, and general exercise would do well for him anyway.

"Probably best to invest in a jacket soon then. Won't be long before it's too cold to go out without an added layer of warmth. A jacket will be less restrictive than a cloak" she says. She'd probably have to do the same, since she'd have to remove her cloak to chop wood.
