"If we do... then I've heard nary a whisper about it. But I'm sure we'll be informed if he does wish to speak with us again tonight. It's a big castle. Word probably takes time to travel across it." Cass says, glancing up at the star filled sky. The clouds from earlier seemed to have cleared, which was somewhat of a relief. At least that meant there would likely not be any more snow tonight. Tomorrow however was a new day. There was no telling what it would bring. But for tonight it was merely cold without the looming threat of snow.

Neither have I, it is late though so perhaps we will be left to our own devices for the night,” he said shrugging. The castle was now upon them, it seemed that the night guard was posted at the gate, one can never be too careful in these times Lockian thought. “HALT, who goes,” came the harsh sounding challenge. “Cassidy and Lockian,” he called back. The guards peered through the dim lighting then simultaneously unbarred their spears, the guards had probably heard of their departure from a tower guard, most likely the only reason he and Cassidy were yet in so easily.

"There's always that possibility. I suppose we'll find out soon enough. If we are left to our own devices for the night then we can probably figure out a quiet supper and just lay low for the night." Cass says. It would probably do them both good to have an easy night since tomorrow would likely be a busy day. She'd be starting to settle into her job again, and he'd be heading into town. Though his arm would probably need to heal before he began to work in earnest.

“Sounds like a good plan,” he said after the had past the guards, he heard the clinking of chainmail as the guards shifted back to their positions upon their passing. He could ill conceal his excitement for the morrow’s coming events. He would probably get up early so he could get to town before morning meal, after that, he didn’t really know.

"You got any more plans for tomorrow? Aside from going into town. You've still got time before you'll be starting work." Cass says. Anything he'd be doing as a soldier would be too risky to do while he still had stitches in his arm, so it made sense that Lord Addaway would be cautious about having him start before that. She had covered any of her injuries under multiple layers of clothing, so she wasn't sure if Lord Addaway had even noticed. But she would mostly just be keeping an eye on his daughter, so unless she got herself into some sort of extreme trouble, her chances of tearing her stitches were slim to none. She was pretty much just a glorified babysitter it seemed.

Lockian shrugged, “I don’t really know what else there is to do, I suppose I could make sure my gear is still in good shape, but other than that I don’t know what else I can do. I could perhaps convince the captain of the guard to let me begin despite my injury,” he said rubbing his beard, “I did after all chip wood without too much trouble,” this didn’t mean that it didn’t pain him at all, on the contrary, it did, a lot, but he chose to ignore it and see what the captain would have to say, “what about you?”

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to speak with him and see what he says. He might have a few tasks for you that wouldn't be too strenuous while you've still got stitches in." Cass says pausing. "I'm not sure... I suppose it depends on what Lord Addaway's daughter wants to do. Apparently I'm her personal guard, so it'll probably most be standing around and keeping an eye out for any trouble. Not that I anticipate she'll be getting into very much trouble" she says.

“I guess we will se what the sun’s rising will bring,” he said opening their door he laid the wood on the ground near the hearth and started stacking it neatly. His face twisted into a small smile as he remembered the girl’s first reaction to seeing Cassidy, “no, I doubt that she can really get into much trouble,” he said, some of his mirth seeping into his voice, he shrugged, “but maybe she is a little different when her parents aren’t around,” he said though he doubted this fact.

"Maybe... I don't know. I suppose I'll find out tomorrow. But for tonight we can probably lay low." Cass says. She just hoped that the younger woman wouldn't be so quick to jump to more physical contact this time. She didn't exactly do the whole touchy-feely thing it seemed, if her immediate reaction was anything to go off of. All she had really done was tense up and wait for it to be over.

“You know,” Lockian began after he had started the fire and settled back into his chair, “if she hugged you this time she had to have done it before. Considering how well you and she apparently were, according to lord Addaway. Just speculation, but perhaps you and she used to be close.”

"It's certainly possible... but any connection that was there seems to be gone now. Along with anything else of my past. All I can really do now is accept that I suppose." Cass says. It seemed entirely possible that they were once close.

Lockian steepled his fingers while resting his elbows on the armrests of his chair, “you know, your amnesia may be a blessing in disguise, hear me out here,” he added quickly, “there are several things in my past that I am not proud of and I would in fact like to forget. What I’m saying is, you don’t know what sort of a person you were but now you have a fresh start,” he quieted suddenly, the last thing he wanted to do was offend her, hopefully she took what said the right way.

"I suppose you have a point. I could have been some sort of bloodthirsty monster for all I know." Cass says flatly. "Though at the same time... it's awful. It eats away you, not knowing. And my family... I assume I must have had one. I can't even remember their names, their faces, nothing. I'm all alone in this strange world that I know nothing about" she says, picking up the bottle of cider to refill her goblet from earlier. She felt so lost... so completely lost. She didn't know where she had been, or even who she was. She knew nothing about herself beyond her name and her apparent occupation.

“I doubt that you were a monster as you put it,” Lockian said after some thought, “I doubt you would be entrusted with the care of a lord’s only daughter if you had that as a past. But I can understand how horrible it would be to not know who your family is, but there is the fact that you are a grown woman, perhaps you left them when you were younger to make your own in the world,” he suggested, there was the possibility that Cassidy had been an orphan in her younger years but Lockian didn’t want to turn their thoughts to unhappy things.

"I don't know...I just don't know. It doesn't seem like Lord Addaway has any idea of who my parents might have been either. I suppose the best thing to do is just put it out of my mind. I have no way of getting in touch with them anyway. So there's no point in dwelling on it. All I'll do is drive myself up a wall trying to figure it out. My head is pounding as it is." Cass says as she sets the bottle down. She raises her goblet, taking a long sip before she takes a seat in the other armchair.
