After eventually retiring for the night, Cass sleeps for a couple of hours. Early that morning, she slips quietly out of the room before sun-up with an axe and burlap bag to carry the wood in. That way she could carry more than just an armload of wood back from the woods. She'd probably be back just as the sun was rising.

Lockian woke just as the sun was lifting over the bright snow covered horizon washing the land over with bright orange and deep gold causing it to look as if on fire. He rose quickly and found a leather string to tie up his hair before checking his dirk and clipping it to his belt as well as his money pocket. Stinging his bow deftly he and putting on his quiver he opened the door and left the room. He had noticed the Cassidy had already left and wondered where she had gone, surely not to work this early.

Cass returns to the room, both the burlap sack on her shoulders and her arms laden with firewood. "This should last us a while" she says, setting the armload of wood down before starting to unload the wood from the sack. Anytime they needed wood would mean an early morning, but that was fine. She could see about some coffee before work and that would be that.

Lockian nodded in the doorway, ''that it should,'' he answered, ''I'm going to go down quickly to the town to gather a few supplies, I dont exactly know when I'll get the time again. I'll take Phantom with me, he hasn't gotten a good exercise in a long time and it would do no good for him to get soft.'' Lockian walked down the mostly silent hall though some of the servants were already stirring and getting ready for the day. It only took him a moment to measure out some grain and feed the grey horse. While it ate Lockian prepared the tack. After he had finished Phantom had already finished his grain. He stood by placidly as Lockian fitted him out and plodded quietly behind as he was led out of the barn. Lockian left lightly on his back, realizing that this was the first time he had ridden Phantom before, though he was not at all worried, he knew how to handle a horse well and the grey was far from spirited.

Cass nods slightly, running a hand through her short black hair. "I'll probably be off to work by the time you get back. But if you need me then I reckon I won't be too hard to find" she says. She would head down to the kitchens to see about a cup of coffee and then she would be off to work. She wasn't sure what the work day would hold but she supposed that she would find out soon enough. She only hoped that Lord Addaway's daughter would have calmed a bit from when they had apparently reunited. It seemed she was a hugger and well Cass was not much of one for outward displays of affection it would seem.

Lockian rode swiftly towards the town testing the speed of Phantom, what he found he was quite displeased with. The horse was not as light as he would have thought him to be and his gait was not very even and comfortably. But even so, he did have a horse after all. They reached the town and were slowly weaving their way through the main street. He found a seamstresses shop and after tying the reins to a hitching post, entered quickly. An old grey haired woman looked up from where she sat weaving, ''greetings young man, may I help you'' she asked in a soft voice not looking up from her weaving, though not really looking at it either. ''Greetings,'' Lockian said bowing his head respectfully, ''I'm in search of a warm jerkin, and a pair of gloves,'' he added suddenly remembering Cassidy's request. ''Of course,'' she answered standing and picking up a light walking stick, though she did not use it to assist her in getting from one place to another, she was blind. But even with this disability she walking through the small shop with confidence and soon came back with what Lockian asked for. A dull grey jerkin with sleeves and a pair a very warm looking gloves. He took the and paid her, ''thank you,'' he said before leaving the shop. The woman smiled kindly and nodded, sightless eyes turning back to her weaving.

After getting her cup of coffee, Cass returns to their quarters. She would finish off her mug of coffee and then be off to work. The caffeine would help. After she had drained the last bit of coffee from her mug, she returns the mug to the kitchens and heads out to locate Lord Addaway's daughter. She wasn't hard to find by any means. Getting around quietly did not seem to be the younger woman's strong suit. Not by a long shot. Perhaps that was why her father wanted her to have a guard. She wasn't sure what his reasoning was behind that.

When he put away his purchases and stepped back into the street there was some sudden commotion across the way. A group of men were tugging forcefully against the reins of a crazy bucking horse, the whites in her eyes were showing and her mouth was frothing, but she still fought on screaming for all the world like the blood bay though at a higher pitch. One of the men spotted Lockian's bow and arrows, ''you there,'' he called loudly to Lockian, ''shoot this crazy animal.'' Lockian advanced quickly right through the men and up to the horse's head, taking firm hold of the rope bridal he forcefully brought down her head and held it down strongly, though this was not with out due fight but she finally quieted down. Lockian took off his thin sleeveless outer shirt and tied it over her eyes. She was pretty quiet after that, ''who owns this horse,'' Lockian asked. A short chubby fellow dressed in light colored silks and satins puffed forward, ''m-mine,'' he said mopping his head with a snowy embroidered kerchief. Lockian looked at him square in the eyes, ''how much?'' The man fumbled a bit with his kerchief before answering, ''um er, ten, gold, ten gold pieces?'' ''Done,'' Lockian said, he kept a firm hold on the bridal while he quickly counted out the pieces with his free hand. He handed the gold to the man before striding slowly towards where Phantom was tied, all the while talking soothingly to the still blindfolded horse. Her ears were swivling in every direction and often she would stop and try to buck or rear bit Lockian merely waited until her spell was finished. He tied her to Phantom's saddle and swung into the saddle, making his way from the stareing town as fast as he could.

Over the course of her first hour on the job, Lord Addaway's daughter had already asked more questions than Cass would care to answer. Amongst them were "do you really not remember anything?" and "are you sure you can't remember anything at all? Not even me?" amongst others. At this point Cass wouldn't be surprised if the younger woman talked her ears off by the end of the day.

Lockian looked back at the horse as the left the town behind them, she was white with brown spots covering her whole body, her mane was a strange creme color striped with black. All in all, she was beautiful horse with a head full of fire and legs that walked as if attached to wings. Lockian shook his head, when would he find time to train the horse, but then he remembered when some man called out for him to shoot it. He would find time, he would make time. The castle now came into sight, and once they had reached the stables Lockian carefully led the mare to an empty stall well away from several of the other horses. He did not risk taking off the blindfold until she was comfortably fixed in the stall. Shutting the gate he reached up and took off the garment. She stood there for a moment eyeing her surroundings then settled her gaze on Lockian before snorting and pawing her stall floor. She started getting frantic and began making tight circles, luckily the stall was too small for her to buck and do herself any real damage. Lockian left her, deeming it best that the horse settles herself down. He went and took care of Phantom before entering the castle.

Cass sighs inwardly as yet another barrage of questions ended. Hopefully this was the last one she mused. By now she figured that Lockian had probably gotten back from town by now. Hopefully everything had gone smoothly for him. She couldn't hear the commotion in the stables from here.

Lockian had no idea where Cassidy could be but he didn’t think it a bad idea to at least try and look her, perhaps have a mere ‘good morning’ before starting work in earnest for the day, also he wanted to get a look around of the castle and get some bearings at where things might be located. One never knew when such knowledge might be useful.

"Careful with that milady." Cass says flatly as she watches Lord Addaway's daughter curiously inspecting a decorative greatsword that was on display on the wall of the hallway. Though it appears her warning was not heeded as the younger woman attempts to pick the sword off the wall, only to be surprised by it's weight, causing her to drop it. Cass was quick to act though, grabbing the sword by it's hilt before it could clatter to the ground at her feet. "You could have seriously hurt yourself. Swords are not toys. They are weapons. You need to be more careful" she says as she places the sword back on the wall. Thankfully no damage had been done, this time anyway.

Lockian happened to pass by their room so he stopped and threw in the purchases he had made before continuing on. He was about to pass by the hall when he heard Cassidy's voice, he turned on his heel and walked down just as Cassidy was returning a sword to its place on the wall, ''morning Cassidy,'' he said once he came up, ''how is work? I was just about to go down and meet the captain of the archers but I do believe I have a few moments to spare before I need to go.''

Cass turns her head slightly after making sure the sword was securely on the wall once more. "Morning" she says pausing. "Alright I suppose. I'm getting paid, and that's all I really need from a job. How did it go for you? No trouble in town I hope?" She asks, glancing at Lord Addaway's daughter out of the corner of her blue eye. The younger woman seemed to be a bit sheepish now, so hopefully she wouldn't try picking up another sword like that without checking first. She might be able to manage a longsword or a short sword, but that greatsword had been too heavy for her.
