''I suppose that is the one I visited earlier,'' Lockian said, ''in that case it shouldn't be to hard to find, considering we stay on the main road.'' He hadn't gone very far in and hadn't seen and taverns or pubs, but chances were there was probably one around the place.

"Most likely, the others look like they're further away. Granted I don't know if the map in my quarters is up to date. Goodness knows how long I was gone for and how much might have changed in the time I was gone." Cass says. Either way, they would be able to find a tavern or pub to grab a meal at easy enough and if they stuck to the main road, well it would be incredibly hard to get lost in the countryside.

Lockian laughed, ''that is true,'' he said. It wasn't quite sunset yet but it was at that point in twilight when the few brightest of stars were just piercing the darkening sky with their silver-white light. Lockian breathed in the clean country air thinking back to the sprawling land his parents used to own. ''If only it were always this peaceful,'' Lockian said quietly, as he listened, the only sounds that could be heard was the trudge of their own booted feet on the rocky path and the distant last call of some winter bird.

"Would be nice wouldn't it?" Cass says, glancing up at the darkening sky. There was an almost reverent silence that seemed to accompany the peak of darkness, where one almost might believe the morning would never come. She loved that time of night. Sadly the peace never did last. Morning always came, even if it felt like the night would last forever.

They were approaching the town and Lockian could see the welcoming yellow lanterns of the town burning yellow down in the valley. ''There is bound to be one around here somewhere,'' Lockian said once they entered the town. He scrutinized each sign the passed looking for the key word inn, tavern, or pub.

"We'll come across one eventually. A town this size has to have at least one pub or tavern." Cass says, her mismatched gaze scanning the dimly lit street. It was quiet, so hopefully whatever place they stopped at would be as well.

Suddenly Lockian spotted a good sized building with bright light streaming through its many pained windows. The door was shut so there wasn't really any telling at this point wether it was full or not. ''We could try there Lockian said pointing briefly towards the building.

"Seems like a good place to start. Hopefully it'll be either a tavern or a pub." Cass says, reaching out with one gloved hand to grasp the door handle. It seemed like a quiet place without too many bells and whistles, which would be nice.

''Indeed,'' Lockian answered, he could smell something savory which generally meant that there was food about he thought with a quirky smile. The name ''Clocky's'' with painted with sprawling green letters on the battered sign. Lockian raised an eyebrow at the name, but entered none the less.

"Rather questionable name... but whatever is cooking smells appetizing at least." Cass says as she enters behind Lockian. She couldn't quite pinpoint what was cooking, but whatever it was, it would surely be better than a handful of nuts, some jerky and hardtack.

“I have to agree with that,” Lockian said glancing up at the sign again, also the cooking did indeed smell good, Lockian hadn’t realized how hungry he was until just that moment, work really did him in he supposed. Inside the place seemed clean and well ordered. A large fellow came forward at that moment from where he had been standing wiping the wooden bar counters. He was very sweaty despite the cool weather and had an annoying habit of popping his fingers. “Might I help you,” he asked mopping his head with the corner of his apron.

Cass turns her head slightly when she heard rather heavy footsteps approaching them. The man in question towered over her, and she wasn't quite short. Though she wasn't concerned in the slightest. "That would be greatly appreciated. We're just stopping by to get something for supper" she says.

''A-course a-course,'' he said nodding, ''we are pretty empty today, but jest set yourselves anywheres and I'll a-git my wife to bring yeh out some vittles,'' he thumped into an adjacent door from which all the good smells were emanating, that is when Lockian realized that the fellow had a genuine peg leg. Lockian sat down at a nearby table, ''quite on top of it, isn't he,'' he commented.

"Much obliged." Cass says. Taking a seat across from Lockian at the table, she rubs her forehead absent-mindedly. "Certainly seems to be. This place seems to be in good order" she says.

A woman laden with a heavy looking tray suddenly approached their table, she was lightly built and had dark braided hair that swung all the way down to her ankles, her dark eyes were bright and cheerful as she set the tray down between them. She placed heaped plates of roast mutton, dark rye bread, and boiled greens before them, “there ye both ar’ '' she said in a high musical voice laden heavily with a highland accent, “ oh and th’ grog ‘as just finished settin’ if either ah you bouth would care for a tankard full.” Lockian nodded, he knew grog to be a seaman’s drink but he didn’t see the harm in trying it.
