Everest loped out of the den with a nod towards Nova, ''yes, he shall most definitely hear of this,'' she said lowly. Skylar's ears went on the alert and his body became rigid, ''it seems so,'' he said quietly, ''although they may be bluffing in an attempt to scare us and get us out quickly,'' he suggested, though he was not altogether very sure of his guys. The scent faded away and Skylar relaxed a little, time will tell, he thought to himself with a shake of his head.

Etain nodded, she wasn't sure how desperate these wolves were going to be but she trusted her mate to protect her,'' she smiled and licked him back. With all that was on her mate's mind leading am entire pack, she could not believe that her was still able to give her time and think of her needs. ''that is smart,'' she said scenting the air.

Storm smiled. “I hope so” he said with a shake of his head as he followed the scent. His ears pricked. “We’re here” he said, nuzzling her gently. He trotted into the den and he saw a white female wolf, currently nursing four pups at her belly. Her mate beside her with his hackles raised. “We are not here to cause any harm” Storm said with a nod. “My name is Storm, the alpha of Dark Moon Pack, and this is my mate Etain.” Storm said. Winter looked at her mate and she pulled her pups closer to her, she slowly began to tremble.

Etain licked Storm back and smiled to him encouragingly before peered into the dark den behind her mate. Her pale eyes softened when she noticed the pups, they were so young. Skylar leapt to his feet, teeth bared, and ready to fight at a moments notice. At the alpha wolf’s calm words he was rather taken by surprise… they weren’t here to kill them? He glanced quickly back at his mate and saw that she was shaking, he turned back to the two wolves but didn’t move away from his place in front of Winter, he wanted to protect against any tricks these two might pull. “What do you want,” Skylar asked a little gruffly.

"We just want to talk" Storm said. "Thats all" He said, as he motioned for Etain to go over to the female. "I would like it if my mate could speak with yours" Storm said calmly to the wolves mate. "I promise, she won't harm her or your pups" Storm added. "Now, please, sit." He encouraged. "I'd like to ask you a few questions, and Etain you may ask the female any questions or her mate any as well" Storm said. "Now you know our names, what are yours?" Storm asked. Winter fluffed up as the female wolf named Etain came over to her, she curled her tail around her pups and pulled them closer to her. "My mate won't harm you. We have three pups of our own." Storm added.

''Im... Skylar,'' he answered the Alpha, sitting down slowly and making sure to keep the wolf in his line of sight as well as his mate, ''I apologize that we are invading your land, we just have nowhere else to go.'' Etain smiled softly, ''your pups are very cute, what are their names,'' she asked th e female softly showing that she wasn't a threat and had no intention whatsoever of harming them.

Storm nodded slightly and sat down as well. "It is quite alright, I am sorry for the way my pack treated you" Storm said. "I talked to them about it earlier." Storm added as his mate began speaking softly with the female. "What's your mate's name?" Storm asked. "W....Winter" Winter said shakily. "My...my name is Winter" She said. "Have you two always been loners?" Storm asked Skylar. Winter looked at her mate and then over at Etain as she spoke to her. "t...thank you" Winter said. She nuzzled each of her pups. "This is Eclipse, Avalanche, Brechin, and Lichen" Winter said. "They only just opened their eyes a few days ago.." Winter broke off as she gazed at her pups. "please don't kill us" Winter muttered to the alpha. "I don't have any intentions on killing you our your family Winter, in fact, its the opposite." Storm said. Winter looked confused and then allowed him to continue speaking. "I can see here that you two have lived here for what looks like a while." He said. "We've been living here since I was about a week or two pregnant" Winter said. Storm nodded slowly. "Well, what my pack did is not right at all, and there are multiple different predators out here, like coyotes, and bears, and even humans" Storm said. Winter tensed and instantly felt herself press against her mate. Storm saw this and he gazed at his mate before speaking again. "Your pups wont be safe out here once they venture out of the den." He said. "I am giving you the option to join our pack." Storm said. "Etain and I have already spoken about this, and we've both aggreged that it would be safer for you and your family." He said to Skylar. "If you choose to join, I will send two of our wolves to help you get to our camp" He said. Suddenly, out of the blue Winter spoke up. "If we do join, could you send Hadassa and Griffin to help us?" She asked. Storm looked at her confused. "Hadassa and Griffin? How do you know them?" He asked. Winter froze. "Uh..." She stuttered looking to her mate for help

Skylar tilted his head ever so slightly, he was confused as to why the alpha was being so nice, but then again, he was very thankful and heaved an inward sigh of relief, “that is alright,” Skylar answered slowly, “we understand,” he glanced back at Winter. “No we have not always been loners, up until about two months ago when my mate became pregnant,” he said. He nuzzled his mate before turning back to Storm, join the pack? His mind buzzed with the suddenness of it all. First they were threatened with their lives the they were asked to join the pack whose territory the had been on for two months! “We met Griffin and Hadassa earlier,” Skylar explained, “they became friends with us and brought us food when my mate became more heavily pregnant,” he explained to Storm.

“Ah. Well that explains all their disappearing acts” Storm said with a chuckle. “Now if you feel you don’t want to live in our pack you don’t have to, but I will need to ask you to leave.” Storm said. “I’m giving you two options, join us, or leave unharmed.” He said. “I will send someone tomorrow morning for your decision.” Storm said. He nodded to his mate and then padded out of the den with her close behind him. Winter looked at Skylar as the two wolves left. “Join their pack or leave?” Winter muttered. “Skylar…what are we gonna do?” She asked

Etain gave Winter one last warm smile before sending back to her paws gracefully and following her mate back into the open air. Skylar nodded to the alpha gravely, ''we shall have our answer by tomorrow,'' he promised before the wolf left. He turned back to his mate and sat down beside her, ''we must think very carefully about this,'' Skylar told her, ''but I think the best way to answer it would be: do we want our pups to grow up wild in the forest, or in the safety of a pack? There are both good and bad things about both those things,'' he said, ''what do you think?''

“I want them to grow up in the safety of a pack.” Winter said with a nod of her head. “Skylar it’ll be safer for us and them if we’re in a pack. There is a lot less risk of predators if we’re in the pack.” She said. “I know it’ll be strange for the both of us, but I think it’s the best option for our pups.” She said. “They could make friends. Etain looked like she was nursing pups, so ours could make friends.” Winter said. “I think we should join them.”

Skylar nodded, ''I have to admit that I was thinking the same thing, though to tell you honestly, im not all too keen on getting back into a pack,'' he said scraping the ground with a clawed paw, ''but we both know its best for our pups, I would most definitely not want them to live their lives on the run. And you're right about the friends, every pups needs friends.'' He nodded again, this time decisively, ''alright, tomorrow we shall tell them that we will join.'' Lichen suddenly crawled over a snuggled beneath her mother's chin, ''mama, what is happening? Im scared,'' she whimpered softly.

Winter looked down at Lichen. “Oh it’s ok.” Winter said as she leaned down and licked her daughter’s head. “All is ok my darling pup.” Winter promised her. “We’re going to be joining a pack.” Winter said to her daughter. “I promise it’s gonna be ok. We’re going to be safe. We’ll be safe.” She said gently. “Go back to sleep, we’ve got a busy day tomorrow.” Winter said as she nuzzled her a little bit. Avalanche snuggled over to his father. “Dada, what’s a pack?” Avalanche asked

Lichen snuggled up in her mother's safe and warm paws and soon fell asleep, feeling reassured. Skylar looked down at his fluffy son, he thought a moment on how to best explain it to him, ''a pack as a large group of wolves who work together and help each other,'' he answered finally, ''everyone has a job and they have to do it to make life run smoothly,'' he said nuzzling his son's soft head. ''did you have a job mama,'' Brechin asked, his gaze intense and curious.

Winter looked a bit taken back by her son's question. She gazed at Skylar and then back down to Brechin. "Before I met your father, I did." Winter said. "I was a hunter, and sometimes a scout" Winter said. "But then, my job changed when I found out I was pregnant with you four. My job became a mother and a mate." Winter said. "I wouldn't change it for anything, now you need to sleep my little darling. We have a long day in front of us tomorrow" Winter said as she licked Brechin lovingly before pulling him towards her belly where his other three siblings were now curled up asleep. Winter looked at Skylar. "I hope we're making the right choice" She whispered before snuggling against him

Skylar met his beautiful mate’s clear gaze steadily as she patiently explained her past job to their curious son. Brechin smiled brightly, “that sounds like fun mama,” he said, small tongue slipping out the side of his mouth in an odd lopsided pant, “goodnight mama, goodnight dada,” he said nuzzling both of them before snuggling up comfortably with his siblings and falling asleep almost immediately. Skylar licked his son’s forehead before turning and looking at his mate, “I do too,” he said quietly, “but I honestly think this is for the best,” he said lapsing into silence for a while, “but, it will be a while for us to get used to it though.” He gazed at his mate steadily and gave a small smile.
