Out in the back country of New Mexico behind a run down farmhouse, a group of men come nearly nightly with their dogs to force them into fights. The starved dogs get very violent and it is not uncommon for there even to be a few deaths. Will the canines be forced to fight all their lives until they no longer can? Or will your dog escape this cruel lifestyle and be able to run free and be a normal dog?
(WARNING: This rp will have violence, blood, and death)

Revenge let out a deep throated huff. He could see his owner through the window of the home counting out money. Betting money. It had been a hot day but the sun was finally setting, but the heat was still coming off the sunbaked ground. A light drizzle started falling, all it really was was condensed humidity. Tonight was to be another fight, he knew. Soon his master would come out, drag him into his old battered van, lock him into a small cage, and drive him away to that old and beat up farm house far out of town. The chain about his neck weighed heavily than normal at the thought. He stood wearily and walked over to his water bowl, dragging the chain attaching him to a stake driven into the ground with him, but he already knew what he would find there... he was right, it was empty... again. Why did he even bother? He started licking the ground to try and pick up the moisture of the rain but that only dried his tongue even more. He laid down again with a sigh, shifting his head about to try and get a more comfortable position, as comfortable as he could get with the overly tight chain wrapped twice about his neck.

Muerto's dark muscles rippled under his gleaming coat as he paced the fence line of his chain link cage. He could feel it, and he was prepared. He could hear Damien opening up the back of the large rusty truck, preparing the tight cage inside. A growl rumbled from his throat as his pacing intensified, the chain link rattling slightly as he brushed against it. It had been almost a week since his last fight, and he was ready to get back into the ring. His paws crossed automatically over the large metal chain attached to the choke collar about his neck as he reached his restraint's limit, turning and heading back the other direction. Gleaming pale eyes didn't leave the Man as he prepared the cage, and he could tell that it was soon. He had known from the beginning of the week that a fight was coming, as the dry tasteless food in his bowl had been more than cut in half as the days passed, which always led up to a night in the ring. A light menacing snarl rumbled from his chest in remembrance, fangs gleaming in the dusky evening sunlight. He was starved, starved for meat and starved for blood. Although he hated the Man that kept him contained, he had to admire his moments of brilliance. Restricting his food before a fight? It made him all the more eager to nourish the flaming hunger for meat, and even more eager to destroy the other mutts in the ring. His bulky shoulders shifted, almost cat like as he remembered the last fight, such a satisfying victory, followed by a haunch of meat that he always got after the fights, although just the blood from his victims was enough to make him go back in the next round. And he was sure this time would be no different. A slam sounded as the back of the truck came down, and a malicious sneer curled at the edges of Muerto's muzzle. Now the fun could begin.

Ganges paced the small back yard, his master had kicked him out of the house, quite literally. Ganges didn't exactly know why. Perhaps it had something to do with him eating that ramen... what did it matter, he was hungry. To Ganges his master seemed rather jumpy today, more than usual at least. He was on the phone a good bit and had made sure TWICE that all the shudders had been firmly closed. He only acted like this when he was planning on going out. To the dog fight. Ganges's lean body shuddered with excitement, maybe, just maybe, Muerto would be there. His young heart thrilled at the thought of seeing the black monster again, even just a glimpse. He wished he could be just like that dog, feared by all, having to be restrained with sturdy chains, scars covering his muscled body. In reality, Ganges imagined himself to be just that. To him the simple thin chain collar was a double thick chain, his master was someone who feared him and strongly tried to keep him under control, but no one could tell Ganges what to do, he was his own dog. All feared him, including the small hairless street mutts that occupied the back alleys. He was top dog, he was a wild wolf.

Mahakali gave a soft whine of worry as she lifted her head from the small bit of shade she got from the one scraggly bush in her pen. The Mistress was out, talking brusquely on her device as she leaned against the van side. Her voice seemed frustrated, and finally she threw her hands up and shut off her phone, sliding it into her pocket then heading inside her small dingy house. Doors slammed and she could hear keys jingling, then silence for a few moments before she emerged again, tossing some stuff into the front seat, then heading around to the back, opening it and disappearing again. The clatter of metal made Kali press further back to the length of the cage as she whined again. No.. not today... she hated it. She knew what the motions meant, and she hated it. Did she have the strength to fight again? With her ears pinned, she clambered to her paws and padded slowly over to the bowl laying by the edge of the fence. Dipping her nose down, she snuffled the almost dry bowl and licked the metal. A bit of moisture clung to her tongue, and she lifted her head with another whine. She was so hungry, so thirsty...and so tired of being both. Always. Her mistress seemed to think that if she was starved she would fight better...but there was only one thing that would make her fight as she had in her youth, and so far she hadn't encountered it again. With a resigned sigh the Tosa Inu moved forwards to the fence, peering through the chain links with her dark amber gaze. The one good thing about this place, was the lack of restraint. A thick collar about her neck and a resilient nylon cord was all that kept her restrained inside the pen. She remembered the days when she had tried attacking her human many times, and she remembered the heavy chain that had followed each of these times. But now... there was no point in fighting Keira. She would always win. She had too many whips, too many leashes, too many cages. And each of those led to a fight, always a fight, always bloodshed. She whined again and turned away, heading for the dark corner. Maybe if she stayed quiet, maybe she didn't have to be chosen. Maybe the new pup could go. She was the right age after all. As if brought on by her thoughts, a growl emanated from the cage beside her and she looked over, the clink of metal drawing her eyes to the young muscular pitbull mix, straining at the edge of her chain, fangs bared. Had she been like that once? Kali wondered as she lay down, curling up in a tight ball and ducking her head under. Not today. She couldn't today. She'd rather die.

Varkado
Varkado could hear his master coming he let out a loud booming bark which his master heard, "I got a treat for you Varkado my champion we are going to fight you tonight" Armone his master said as he removed the chain leash from it's attached post and walked Varkado over into the van, Varkado would leap right into the van and into the cage which Armone quickly locked and then shut the van door, Varkado was nervous this was a big fight he could sense it there would be blood lots of it he thought, as he stayed quiet well Armone drove to where the fights were being held, it was a good trip maybe a hour at least from Armone's place, he could scent many dogs in the area this was going to be a huge event, the scent awoke the monster inside of him the one which would turn on as soon as it became fight time, he walked beside Armone as soon as he was out of the van, his nose catching lots of male scents and faintly one female on the air, he then felt his master attach the chain to a post nearby deep in the ground, "Be good my Varkado I promise you your fight will come soon" Armone said as he filled a water bowl within reach of Varkado, who quickly lapped the water up until it was all gone, he was thirsty oh so thirsty he thought as he layed down in the dirt trying to get comfortable as much as the chain collar and leash would allow him too, he would watch Armone vanish into a building on the farm's property with money in his hand, he knew it was betting money his master hardly left without some money in his hand or on his person.

Ecoris
Ecoris would tilt her head hearing her master talking to some spanish guy on her thing that she called a phone, she picked up on the word fight and that made her heart sink as she knew what it meant she would be fighting possibly tonight, "I can't fight..please ..take someone else" Ecoris thought as her master opened her cage and she started to walk out, she whimpered in fear as the lady slipped on the collar which was lightweight but made from chains that were not the heavy varity, "Come on my beautiful Ecoris don't fight me my lady this will be the last fight I promise" her master said in that stupid sweet talk she always used which never worked on her, but Ecoris was too scared to disobey so she went willingly into her master's Suv which thankfully had the air conditioning on, she laid out on the back seat of the Suv with her front paws supporting her head for the trip, she could smell dogs in the air lots of them mostly males she thought as her master parked the Suv and opened the door with her hand on Ecoris's leash, she had on a fake smile as she walked Ecoris over to a small fenced yard on the property, it had a small bowl filled with water and a dented metal bowl filled with a tiny amount of food, "You stay in there my lady mommy will be back to get you ready to fight" she would say in that sweet talking voice of her's as she walked into a building with money in hand, she then caught the scent of a dog she knew from a previous fight they both were at, she could not see him though so she instead just ate the small amount of food and drank all the water before laying down in the sunlight her blue and tan coat seemed to shine in the sunlight as she layed there.

Remo
Remo would hear his master coming because of his older age he moved slower, he could hear his master's loud booming voice from inside the house, "Yes I know Remo is old but you show me any other elderly dog with his energy in the ring" his master said speaking to someone on his phone that Remo didn't know, he would growl at the large pitbull chained just outside of the fence dividing them the dog would return his growl, he then turned his attention to the open door that lead to the backyard as his master walked out, he knew from his master's walking pace this was going to be his final fight and he was ready to show the younger dogs how it was done, he held his head high as his master unhooked the leash from the post it was anchored too and walked him over to the van, his master then carefully picked him up and put him in a cage inside the van and locked it and shut the van's door, the drive was short as his master lived in the state where the tournment was being held and was a local, they were parked beside a larger van and as his master opened the van door and his cage, his ears picked up on barking as his master helped him down and lead him towards a large yard with many posts and water bowls, he growled as they walked by the dogs to a spot far enough away from the other dogs who surely would start a fight with him, he was then rechained to a thick post firm in the ground and left alone to drink some water that had been provided to all the fighting dogs no matter if they were fighting or not, he drank it slow as he knew if he drank it fast it would just increase his thirst, he could hear some of the fighting dogs making commets about his age, "You see that old dog ..ha not even worthy of a fight I would destroy him in seconds" said a mean large dog of unknown breed possibly a cane corso mix he thought, as he started to nap in the sun not caring what his master was doing.

Revenge's ear twitched back as he heard the back door screech open, then the heavy footsteps of his master thump down the rickety wooden steps. The bear dog started getting up when he felt himself be cruelly jerked down as the man stepped on the chain, he continued to walk along the chain to keep the dog's head down. Revenged snarled at his approach but the man expertly slipped a muzzle over his face. The other man was with him this time and had set up a cage as Revenge's master was tightening the muzzle. Together the pulled the resisting dog in and slammed the treble lock door shut. Revenge didn't cease growling but he knew he couldn't do anything. The cage was too short for him to stand straight and too too narrow for him to lie down. He got jostled quite a bit as the two men strainfully hefted him up and carried him to the old van backed up against the gate. After hauling him in and slamming the door shut the two got in and started the thing whilst turning up the radio deafeningly. Revenge whined quietly and tried getting himself more comfortable, but in the end, he was miserable the entire drive.

Muerto took a single step back as he heard a chain rattle on the ground, and his eyes flashed with an insane fire. They were coming, he could hear their steps. The first to appear from around the house was the tall dark eyed Man... and the second was bald and muscular, with a scar running down the side of his face. The Trainer. Muerto snarled deep in his throat as he watched them come, the Trainer swinging a chain in his hand. The snarl grew from his chest to his throat, a vicious warning of impending danger. Muerto's stance shifted to one of aggressive anger, his eyes not leaving the two men. Just a few more steps... then they would open the cage... he couldn't help grinding his teeth together in anticipation, his snarling rising in volume as Damien's hand went for the two latches holding his door shut. They knew who they were dealing with. His tail was stiff out behind him as he crouched, listening to the first lock click back, and the second slide back with a grind. He had two seconds to do this. But he'd waited five years. The trainer pushed open the door, taking a single step forwards, and Muerto leapt, ignoring the strangling choke of the chain collar about his throat. His eyes were wildly deadly, his movements so swift the Trainer didn't even have time to prepare. His jaws snapped closed, and he cursed himself in his head. Two feet too short. But the Trainer's pained roar was music to his ears as he clamped his pitbull teeth on his lower arm, which was just mildly protected with that foolish leather they tried to dissuade him with. His jaws ground more, the snarl not leaving his throat as he threw himself forward again, trying to get a better hold, and strangely seeming to be able to throw himself even further forwards. Then suddenly his chain hit him hard on his back, landing with a strikingly painful thud, and he instinctively released the arm, throwing himself around with a roar of captured rage. But Damien held the end of his chain, swinging it so it whistled in a dooming warning through the air. Muerto snarled, his muscles rippling as he shifted his shoulders, judging the odds. But before a single decision could be made, the heavier chain fell over his head, pulling him away from Damien, towards the Trainer again. Unshaken, he leapt, following the direction of the chain, heading for the wounded man, only to be yanked with ferocity backwards, both chains now tight about his throat as his Master wrapped the end around the stake, pulling hard, eyes cold. Muerto snarled and snapped as the Trainer repeated the move with the fence post, bringing him closer to the ground, and then with a sudden twist they threw him sideways, laying flat on the deceptively warm dirt. He could feel his breath being choked out, but still he did not stop throwing himself, trying to get back up, snarling and snapping in crazed movements of anger. But still, ever so slowly, the darkness closed in. "He's ready for the ring, with the taste of blood on his teeth" The Trainer's growl echoed out, strangely nearby. "I warned you about that leather, he isn't one to be trained to unhate" Damien's icy tone seemed to cut through his head. The trainer's chuckle could be felt on his fur as his eyes rolled shut. "Oh he'll learn" was the last words he heard as the steel trap of a muzzle was slipped over his head and anchored to the chain collar. And then he was gone.
Half an hour later he awoke with a choking gasp, lunging forwards automatically, only to slam metal against metal, the choke collar immediately tightening. It took only a few moments to realize where he was, and he settled into a crouch with an angry snarl. He had been so close. But always, they seemed one step ahead. Even now, both chains were threaded through the bars, one in the front, one in the back. And he knew they'd choke him out again if he tried the same thing upon exiting. Again he snarled, the noise now reverberating within the iron muzzle that clamped around his head. He hated it, probably more than any other restraint. It cut into his fur, into his face, into his neck, and it's heaviness caused him to lay his head down after a few moments. But in no way did it diminish the fire building within his bones. He may not be able to move an inch in any direction, but he could plan, he could store energy, and he could wait. Braced against the bumps that the truck jostled over at reckless speed, he growled low in his throat. One day... one day he would succeed. For now he would satisfy his hunger for revenge in the ring.

Kali pinned an ear as she heard Keira's footsteps pause by her cage door. No... keep going.. keep walking.. she pleaded silently in her head. And like a miracle, the footsteps did continue to the puppy's cage. She lifted her head cautiously, relief flooding her. The pitbull puppy's growls and whines went up another notch as she flung her brown body at the door, but not in malice, rather in excitement. Kali shuddered. What a deranged idea. Being excited for the fights. She watched as Keira expertly stepped into the cage, holding a chain in one hand for security as she reached for the puppy. It seemed to excited to even care that she was hovering over it as it strained at the collar, and as soon as the chains had been switched out, she almost dragged Keira to the van. The slam of a lock told her the puppy was contained, and she slowly relaxed. Keira never took them both. She laid her head on her paws, trying to push out the imaginings of the fight to come that were flooding in. And then one thought did strike. What if HE was there? A growl suddenly rose in her throat at the rememberance, and her eyes snapped open, pained fury glimmering in their depths. One day they'd meet again. And she knew who would walk away from it. A sudden rattling of a metal lock made her whip her head around, and she cowered against the ground. No... why her too? Keira opened the cage and stepped in. The sight of that open freedom made Kali quiver with wishfulness. But she pushed further back against the cage, almost plastering herself to the side as the woman walked up, holding a light chain. But it was still a chain. "Don't fight it, we have money to make back after that tie you threw us last time" Keira said in her no nonsense frustrated tone as she rougly yanked off the nylon leash, slipping the chain over her head and securing it to the collar. A double collar, one a choke, and a chain leash... why so much restraint? She should know that Kali wasn't going to try anything. In fact she'd rather not try anything ever. But Keira didn't seem to hesitate as she tugged the large dog. "Get up" she barked at her, holding the end of the chain menacingly. Kali whined then pulled herself to her paws, her legs shaking slightly. She didn't want to do this. But she had to. Walking to the car, she glanced down the open road for a moment. What if she just took off running? Could Keira hang on? The wistful impulsive thinking almost made her leap forwards, but Keira suddenly grabbed her, shoving her up into the car, and pushing her into the cage before she had a moment to think further on the subject. In the tight metal confine, Kali managed to turn around and lay down, barely having enough room, but grateful that she did. "Get your fires up, I need you both to do some marring today" Keira grinned roughly at them, slamming down the hatch and heading to the drivers seat, hopping in and starting the engine. Kali whined again, ignoring the growling pitbull in the cage beside her as she turned her head away.

Varkado
Varkado was on edge he rose to his paws and started to pace as far as his chain leash would allow, he would growl at any dog that even dared look in his direction he wanted to show that he was tough and strong, but inside he was terrified of the coming fight he knew it would be a brutal fight as Armone was getting more money hungry lately and needed the big fights to fill his pockets or so he said Varkado suspected it had something to do with what his master called betting whatever that was, "I hear that anatolian shepherd is facing a dog called Revenge tonight I pity the anatolian ...Revenge fears no dog I have never seen him back down from a fight" said one of the fighting dogs not far from him, he listened to the conversation growing more and more anxious as the amount of dogs in the yard started to get smaller, he growled as a stocky looking pitbull eyed him up fresh scars were all over them, he stood agressivly not backing down facing the stocky pitbull until the pitbull's master dragged him away, then Varkado relaxed a little as he found a foodbowl but there was no food in it he was hungry no starving having had very little food for weeks on end, he knew it would not be long till the monster inside of him snapped willing to take on anything to give him what he required which at the moment was food, he was ready to fight knowing he had no choice in the matter except to either win or tie the fight, he knew that as soon as his master was done with whatever he was doing that it would soon be time to fight and he would not hold anything back.

Ecoris
Ecoris let out a loud audible growl as a stocky pitbull eyed her up he looked at her like she was a tasty steak, "Hello there pretty lady ..hmm your not bad looking how would you like to be the mother of my pups sweetheart" the pitbull said to her, she pinned back her ears and rushed the fence like some crazy dog growling and snarling, "How would you like for me to tear you apart I don't care that I'm a lady I have fought dogs much stronger then you and they always ran away whimpering to there master like a little puppy" Ecoris said not impressed by the pitbull's attempt to flirt with her, she was not just some weak female dog unable to defend herself she was a fighter and it was her right to decide who she wanted to have pups with, she looked at the fence debating if she could climb it but she decided not too just in case her master was nearby watching her, she continued to act agressive towards the pitbull even backing away only to rush the fence again, "your lying lady I can tell just from your wounds that you are one of the light fighters you won't last long here this is for real fighters lady not a light fighter like yourself" the pitbull said not impressed by her display of agression, "I might be a light fighter honey but I do know how to hold my own against a dog like you now you better leave before I climb this fence and bite your handsome face" Ecoris said and pretended to climb the fence to prove her point, of course she could not really scale the fence she just lied to get rid of the creepy pitbull who seemed to get the message and dragged his master far away from her whispering the word crazy to any dog within earshot.

Remo
Remo would ignore the young dogs as he continued to nap, he was really just conserving his energy but any foolish dog probaly thought he was a waste of energy to even fight, he woke up hearing his master's voice he was talking to someone on his phone again and from the tone of his voice he was angry, "I don't care who you think you are I am not going to buy your chow chow mix puppy to enter in fights I am happy with Remo he has never not proved his worth in the ring" Remo's master said to the other person on the phone, he stopped listening hearing a dog growling and snarling in the distance they seemed really mad about something, but it was not his right to check it out so he stayed out of it and instead looked around to see if any other dogs were also hearing the disturbance, but he noticed most of the dogs here were of a similar age to him and hardly seemed bothered by anything, "figures ...most of these dogs are going to either die fighting or retire" Remo said as he curled back up to nap some more not really wanting to be too active at the moment as it was hot outside, he was suprised any dog had the energy to fight or start one in this heat with the poor amount of water each dog was given.

Ganges's master suddenly walked out. The fellow was actually quite tall but his hunch back made him look a lot shorter. His leery face turned towards the wolf climbing up on the ancient and crumbling patio table. ''Ganges,'' he called loudly in his nasally sounding voice, '' git over here.'' Ganges looked back and stuck his tongue out in a pant. The man called louder. Ganges merely jumped down and started sniffing the grass for absolutelu no reason. In his mind this was sort of the way Muerto would act, the viscous pit bull would never listen if HIS master called. Grumbling, the man walked up and grabbed Ganges's collar as well as a part of his ruff. Ganges growled but the man didn't seem to hear. Ganges snickered to himself, he was doing a great job. The man suddenly lifted him up nearly clean off the ground and yelled in his face and slapped him across the nose a couple of times. Ganges pinned his ears but as soon as the ordeal was over he stared fixedly back at the man who had by this time tied a rope around his neck and started leading him towards the pick up truck, or rather, Ganges started leading the man to the pick up truck. The man opened the door and Ganges jumped in and settled himself comfortably on the bench seat. The truck was started after a couple of tries and they pulled out of the driveway, Ganges's tail shifting restlessly with excitement.
