Kumiko woke up the next morning to the sound of her alarm going off to let her know that it was time to get up and get ready for school. She was all warm in her blanket and did not want to get up. Haku was sleeping next to her head on the pillow as she sat up. Stretching, Kumiko grabbed pulled her legs over her bed and headed to the kitchen where she began to prepare Haku's food. The black cat bolted from the bedroom the moment he heard the sound of the cat food can being opened. He pranced around her feet for a moment before jumping up on top of the fridge to watch Kumiko prepare his his breakfast.
"Here you go, Haku," Kumiko announced as she placed his bowl into the elevated cat food dish holder. She then sat down at the table as her mother finished preparing breakfast. Kumiko usually ate before taking a shower as she did not want to ruin her uniform and have to change again. This morning, her mother made some rolled tamagoyaki, rice, miso soup, and some sausage links. Once it was ready, she said her thanks and began to eat. It was so delicious. Once she was finished, Kumiko took a shower and got into her school uniform.

Ryo was already out the door of his home, after getting up just short of 6 in the morning, his book bag and gym bag over his shoulder. Because he would have morning soccer practice, and because he had to make up for the fact, that he didn't go to afternoon clean up duty in the classroom, he needed to make up for that. His morning routine was the same as it always was.....getting dressed, having a traditional Japanese breakfast, taking his dog for a walk, taking a quick shower, getting re-dressed, and spending some time talking to his grandfather. It was really nice to have some family there with them, and his grandfather really was wise. And while most parents made their bentos for them, he usually took it upon himself, to make his own lunch every day, since he never liked the idea of being overly reliant on others.

Kumiko yawned as she stepped on the train and was lucky enough to find a seat before everyone was packed onto the train. She only had one stop as Okazaki Academy was not far from the station. A few students from another school were looking at her for a moment before they began whispering. What they did not know was that Kumiko could hear everything that they were saying.
"Did you hear about that girl from Okazaki Academy? She died last night. I hear a ghost came up and killed her while she was at the school after dark," the girl with blonde hair announced as she whispered over to her friend.
"How do you know about that girl from Okazaki Academy? We don't even go there..." a girl with brown hair asked her friend.
"I have a friend who goes there, Kumi Yashita. She says that her friend called her before she died saying something creepy was going on at the school. Then the call suddenly disconnected. Kumi went to the school after the call to make sure that she was alright and found her body in the middle of the gym..." the girl looked at Kumiko for a moment. "I would never go there. That place is cursed i bet. I hope nothing happens to us because I know someone who goes there..."
Kumiko sighed as she stood up as her stop was coming soon. She walked over to the door as the train stopped at the station and walked off the train once the doors were open. She could not help but think about what she had heard during the train ride as she walked to the school. She wondered if Ryo had heard anything about the girl who had died. As she walked up, some students were laying flowers at the gate and a few were crying as friends held them. She needed to find her friends and Ryo to see who it was that had died or if they knew anything.

As he was kicking the ball across the soccer fields, Ryo scans the area, watching as his teammates played. Practice was a bit more solemn today, more out of respect, than for grieving. The morning at the academy had been a bit of a blur. From the time he arrived, to the time he was in the locker rooms, getting ready, up until one of his teammates, a scared freshman ran in, telling the entire team what had happened. They had all come out of the locker room, following their teammate up to the front of the building, where students were starting to gather. This was much earlier in the morning, than it usually was for those who weren't playing sports. But word had spread very quickly, about Takamora-san's death. He hadn't seen the body, but he was on edge about this. Was there a killer out there? Were they still at the academy? He had heard that the academy was considered to be cursed, ever since he had been enrolled, but he had never believed the rumors, since ghosts and hauntings were things that he believed in. He still didn't believe in it, but there wasn't a logical explanation that he could find, as to how a girl died at the academy, during a time when everyone was gone, and the academy was supposed to be closed and locked for the evening.

Kumiko noticed that the soccer team had come out to pay respects to the girl who had died. Picking up her pace, Kumiko ran over to Ryo who was standing off to the side. "Okada-san...I am guessing you heard about the girl who died last night..." Kumiko asked as she looked at Ryo. "I wonder who it was. I heard Kumi Yashita found her last night..."
"It was Aiko Takamora. She was in the Science club with me last night. We were the last two in the building," Chiyo announced as she appeared next to Kumiko with Ayumi. She had taken off her glasses to wipe her eyes from the tears that had formed. "We stayed after the science club to clean up after we did a few fun experiments. I got a call from my mom that my sister was in town for a few days as she is visiting us from Hokkaido. She insisted I go so that I could see my sister. If I would have known that this was going to happen...I would have stayed."
Kumiko placed a hand on Chiyo's arm as a way of giving her condolences. "Chiyo...I am so sorry that this happened. I did not hear about it until I was on the train this morning. Some girls were looking at me as if I had something wrong with me. I am guessing my uniform gave away that I attend Okazawa Academy."
Kumiko sighed. Are the rumors about the curse on Okazawa Academy true?

Looking at the grieving students, Ryo keeps quiet, since that was really the best thing that he could do. He didn't know the student, who had died, but it was definitely tragic. This academy just really seemed plagued by a dark cloud, and he wasn't sure what was causing it. With students dying, he wondered just what the driving force behind this was. He didn't believe that it was anything supernatural. But rather, he felt that whoever had died, had likely buckled under the stress of probably being at the top. This was a very well-known academy, and it would make sense that people would fight tooth and nail, to be the best. Not taking his eyes off of the crowd, he could hear Takanawa speaking, seemingly to him. "I just heard about it this morning. I don't know who she is, but this is definitely unfortunate. This academy has a bad enough reputation, and if this keeps up, with students dying, it could close. No one knows what's happening. Maybe she was overly stressed at home, and just decided to end things here." He says.

"Aiko would never do that!" Chiyo exclaimed as she yelled at Ryo for even suggesting that. "How dare you say that! Kumi called me this morning to tell me that Aiko was dead. She did not have the heart to do that to me last night when I was spending time with my sister!"
"It's okay, Chiyo. I know Aiko was a good friend of yours. She was a nice person from the times that I met her," Kumiko said as she pulled one of her best friends into a hug. She then turned to Ryo. "Ayumi, can you take Chiyo inside please? I think I need to talk to Okada-san about what is going on."
Ayumi nodded as she placed her hands on Chiyo's shoulders and guided her towards the gate of the academy.
Kumiko took a moment to think and then turned to Ryo. "I think it all started when I saw that girl yesterday. She said something about the school and students now being cursed." She stopped as she looked down at the ground as tears filled her eyes. "Could I have caused this because I saw the ghost of the dead girl?"

Ryo sighs a bit to himself, looking at the makeshift memorial. He really didn't know this girl, so it was only natural that he might make assumptions. But Takanawa's friends, really could be quite volatile and over emotional. Running a hand through his hair, he looks down at his watch, figuring that sooner or later, he would be heading back to the soccer fields. They were going to play for just a little longer, and then they would all head off to their first class of the day.
Looking over at Takanawa, Ryo raises an eyebrow. "You're saying that you saw Takamora-san's ghost? But how could that even be? She would have to have been killed before school let out, and someone else would have found her much sooner, rather than the following morning. Unless that's not what you're saying. I don't know what to believe, since I didn't see any ghosts. No one has been showing themselves to me. Either there are ghosts and I can't see them, or you need to have your head checked, Takanawa-chan, or someone will think that you're crazy. I don't know anything about curses and I've been here a bit longer than you." He says.

"No, it was someone completely different that I saw. I am not sure who it was. But I am sure that it was someone from one of the past classes who might have died here," Kumiko announced as she shook her head. She did not want to spare telling Ryo that she saw the girl hanging by a rope in the closet in case it did give him the creeps. Her experience was not going to make her not want to come to school. There was something that was going on from the first day that the school opened up. And they need to find out what happened. "Do you think we would have access to the old archives of the school? Maybe we can find out something in there."
Kumiko was more talking to herself but she did not mind if Ryo gave her an answer.

Ryo shrugs a little bit, "I can't say that I've seen any ghosts or spirits, or whatever you call them. I don't know what to think on the matter, since I haven't exactly experienced it for myself." He says, as he looks at the girls, who were currently crying together. Looking over at Takanawa, he shrugs again, "I'm not really sure. I've never looked for them, never had a reason to. If there is an archives, it would have to be in the principal's office, or in the far back closet in the library." He says, before raising an eyebrow. "Hold on a moment. Go back just a bit. We? What are you talking about? Are you asking me to go with you? And risk my chances for a scholarship for soccer? Are you out of your mind? You might not have anything to lose, but I do. Maybe it's all just in our heads. There's got to be a more logical explanation for this." He says. "If you want to go sneaking around back there, fine. But it wouldn't be smart for me to risk getting in serious trouble." He says.

"Fine, I will do it myself then. I don't need your help since you are obviously too busy with your soccer career," Kumiko snapped as she turned to head in the direction of the school building. She kind of regretted saying what she did, but at the same time, she did not care. It sounded like he did not want to find out what was going on with the school and this so called curse. It was like he did not believe in any of it. At least, he would not believe that any of it would happen to him until something happened to someone close to him, or even himself. She looked over her shoulder for a moment at Ryo and then continued on inside where she changed into her indoor shoes.

Watching Takanawa walk away, Ryo raises an eyebrow, confused yet again. He never could figure her out. Was she trying to be his friend or what was she wanting? One minute she was friendly to him, and then the next, she looked like she couldn't stand him. She really was a confusing girl. It wasn't that he didn't believe her......sort of? He had yet to even see anything remotely haunted. All he knew, was that people died at this academy, but not anyone that he knew. It made sense that she would want to figure it out, given that she was seeing things that no one else was seeing. Sighing to himself, he shrugs his book bag strap higher onto his shoulder, before heading straight for the library. If she wanted some answers, he would find a way to do so, in a way that wouldn't screw him over.

Kumiko sat down in her homeroom as she placed her bag on the hook of her desk. Thank goodness that it was Friday as she could spend some time at home and not worry about what had happened this week for a few days. This weekend, her father was going out of town as he was going to speak at a convention in Fukuoka on Neurology. She was going to see him off at the airport before heading to her bother's soccer game on Saturday. She took a moment to think about her plans this weekend as the class started. She pulled her book out of her bag and opened it to the page that they were reading. It was hard to concentrate as she thought about what was going on. She needed to find out what was going on with the school that she almost did not hear the teacher call on her.
"I am sorry, Haruka-Sensei. I just did not get some good sleep last night. What I thought the author was saying was..." Kumiko then explained what the author was trying to say in the book. Once she was done speaking, her mind quickly went back to the events the day before. And Ryo. She felt bad that she ended the conversation the way it ended. But he was not willing to help her in any way. She shook her head as she pushed everything to the back of her mind and started to focus on school work.

Stepping into the library, Ryo walks over to one of the storage closets on the second floor. The library had three floors, since there were many frequent visitors. He remembered that there was one room in particular, that most, if not all students, never went to. It was located on the third floor, near the back. From what he had heard, a student had died there, and a fairly tough one at that. That floor held a lot of the history books. He wasn't sure if this section would hold the information, that would ease Takanawa's mind, since she really seemed to be seeing a lot of the paranormal activity. Walking over to the staircase, he begins to climb up them, knowing that he was going to a floor, that very few people used. Only the janitor, and a small handful of students in his class, ever went up there. None of the students from the lower grades ever went there. Mainly, because there just weren't any interesting books there, on top of all the haunting rumors.

"Kasa!" Kohaku quietly cursed as she arrived at Okazaki. How could I have not seen that!? I was there! And it was Aiko-chan too! She punched the gate and stopped for a moment. "Hold on... I WAS THERE." Kohaku whispered. "Oh god. Now I might be a suspect." Kohaku shivered and slowly stepped toward the school building, trying to cover her face in shame. Suddenly, A voice called out from behind her. "Kohaku-chan, are you ok?" It was Yasashi-chan Kohaku jumped in suprise. "Oh. It's you. Yes I'm ok." No need in telling her about last night. "Well you don't look ok. I'm sorry about Aiko. I know you were close in junior high." Yasashi smiled and squeezed Kohaku's shoulder. "It'll be ok."
