Kumiko looked out the window as she wondered what Ryo was up to at this time. She had been thinking a lot about him the night before to the point that she needed to work on homework to stop thinking about Ryo. But even doing homework was not enough to get her to get Ryo off her mind. She was just so distracted today. Thinking about Ryo and everything that had happened the day before after she had left Ryo at lunch. Even Chiyo was noticing a change in Kumiko while they were working on a group project for her English class. She was staring at Kumiko with a confused look on her face.
"Kumiko....are you sure that you are okay? You keep looking out the window. Are you still thinking about yesterday and seeing that dead girl?" Chiyo asked as she adjusted her glasses. She raises a brow as if she was really worried about her best friend.
"Huh?" Kumiko asked, not realizing that she had in fact looked out the window again. They were working on a project to find some grammar sentences that were either correct or wrong. "Oh...I just have a lot on my mind right now. I just want to go to lunch so that I can figure out what happened in that classroom yesterday." That was not the truth. She just wanted to see Ryo. She even saw him when her eyes were closed the night before. She instantly opened her eyes when he came to her. Her breathing had been almost a pant as she tried to stop thinking about him.

Reaching the top of the third floor, Ryo could feel a heavy air, on this floor. There were some students here, four at most, since this was a place that was still in use. But he knew that the heavy veil, that seemed to surround this particular floor, was something that every student felt. He had been up here before and had felt this feeling, but it wasn't until now, that this feeling.....actually felt unsettling. Walking among the shelves of books, he starts to scan the spines of each book, searching for something of significance. This was the closest, that he was ever going to get. He was less at risk of losing his scholarship, by searching here, rather than sifting through the files, that were in the principal's office. Why he was doing this, he really had no idea. Takanawa-chan just seemed to constantly show up, more than usual. He was fine with her being Hana's friend, but it felt strange to be followed around by a second year. As he reads some of the books, he pulls out four, figuring that he could pass them over to her, before he returned them. With the books in hand, he walks towards the stairs, so that he could check them out. As he walks, he feels a small shove, to his shoulder, causing him to roll his ankle, dropping the books, as he hits the floor.

It was lunch when Kumiko was sitting outside at the fountain, eating her lunch as she looked around. She was hoping that Ryo would come out soon so that she could talk to him. She had not realized until now that she was starting to get feelings for Ryo. Every time that she was thinking about him, a smile would come upon her face. She could not tell Chiyo or Ayumi about her feelings for him. She looked down at her food, having made enough for both her and him in case he did not bring anything. It was like she was expecting him to come around the corner and smile when he saw her. She even told her mother that she was going to stay after school. But she was not going to tell her mother that she was going to watch Ryo play. She did not want her mother to think that she was too young for dating. She was 14. So, she could date if she wanted to.
"Did you hear what happened to Ryo?" a girl with black hair asked as they were walking passed Kumiko, heading towards the building. "I heard he was in the infirmary for twisting his ankle. There is a major game this weekend, and with Ryo out...we might have a chance to lose. Ryo is our best player."
Looking up when she hears his name, her eyes widen when she hears that he was in the infirmary. What had happened? What did he do to get hurt? Kumiko quickly packed her things up before running inside, quickly changing her shoes. She had stopped by her homeroom to drop her food off. She was practically running through the halls until she gets to the infirmary. Seeing him laying on one of the beds with his ankle wrapped up, Kumiko appeared by his side. "Okada-san...what happened to you?" Kumiko asked as she almost wanted to take his hand.

Lying in the infirmary bed, Ryo curses a bit, under his breath. Whoever had pushed him, had just cost him the chance to play their game, this weekend. He knew that they would probably be fine, without him, even though he was considered their best. He was incredibly frustrated, as he glances over at the books, that were stacked on the counter, next to the sink. All this trouble.......for 4 books. He wasn't even sure if this was worth it. The nurse had told him, that it was best to keep weight off of his ankle, to wrap it and ice it, regularly, and he would be back on his feet and playing again, in a week. He would miss the preliminary game, but he would be back to play the games, that actually mattered. He hears the door slide open, expecting it to be the nurse, since she needed to go and talk with his teachers. When he hears Takanawa's voice, he looks back over at her. "So you heard, did you? I got pushed by the stairs, by some jerk. Didn't see his face, but I got pushed, and twisted my ankle. It isn't bad, but I will miss the game. I'll be fine in a week," He says.

"You got pushed down the stairs?" Kumiko asked as she looked at his ankle. She gets up as she walks over to the freezer and grabs an ice pack. Grabbing out of the ice pack, she wraps it up into a towel. Walking back over to him, she wraps it around his ankle, remembering what her father had taught her when she was younger. "I am sorry that this happened to you, Okada-san. I wish I could talk to whoever did this. Why would someone at our school hurt..." Kumiko stopped as she looked back at his face. "Wait....you said that you did not see who did this? Could it be the curse?" she asks as she gets a worried look on her face. She did not want to automatically assume that this was all the work of the curse. It could have been an accident. Or, it could be that he stepped wrong, and thought that someone pushed him. Kumiko could not always keep the curse on her mind. But it was interesting that it would start out with her seeing the dead girl, the death of a fellow student, and now...Ryo getting hurt. "Is there anything I can do to help you?" Kumiko finally asked.

Raising an eyebrow, Ryo nods, "Yes, I did. I could feel hands on the back of my uniform. I could definitely feel that someone pushed me. It was probably that idiot, Bando. He's mad because he tried to beat me, for my spot, as vice captain, and I made him look like a rookie. He could never handle a loss well. He might've injured me, but that won't give him, my spot. He already failed miserably, and has no place on the team. I'll probably have Yamada cover for me," He says, running a hand through his hair. Of course, he couldn't prove that it was Bando. It was dark, since some of those lights.....clearly needed replacing. And when he had looked at the top of the stairs, he couldn't really see anyone. He had been lying there, trying to get to his feet, when he had been spotted by Daisuke, who had helped get him over to the infirmary. Looking over at Takanawa, he shrugs. "I doubt that it was a curse. Speaking of which, you owe me big time. I got those books to try and help. You are going to have to return them to that floor, when you are done with them. I told the librarian, that they were more for you, than me," He says, pausing for a moment. "I don't really need anything. I guess if you want to get me something, just go to the vending machine, and get me a pineapple soda," He says.

Walking over to the books that were on the table, she runs her hand over them, noticing that they were old yearbooks from previous years. She opens one and looks at some of the pictures that were inside. She sighs as she feels bad that Ryo had to go through this to get her these books. "You did not have to do this for me. You could have told me that there were books up in the library that I could look at. Now...I feel horrible that you did something for me and got hurt. How do I ever repay you?" Kumiko asked as she looks at Ryo. She could not help by bite her lip when she watched him run his fingers through his hair. He looked cute when he did that. Ayumi had told her that Ryo did that on occasion. A lot of girls would swoon when he would do that. When he asks for her to get a pineapple soda, Kumiko nods. "Of course. I was wondering...either you can come over to my place...or I can come over to your place tonight and you can help me go through all of these. You don't have to if you don't want to. I just want to find out who that girl was...." Kumiko announced.

Resting his hand at his side, Ryo watches, as Tanakawa starts to skim through the books, likely looking at the pictures. Not many schools held onto old yearbooks, but they were likely extras, from students who had died. So rather than get rid of them, they just stored them near the back of the third floor, to collect dust. Most of the time, no one ever went that far back, since those books were completely useless to them, anyways. he had to come up with a legitimate excuse, as to why he was checking out those books. Though he had said, that the reason was for Tanakawa, and that she would be the one to return them. When he hears her question, he furrows his brow. "Let's just meet at the library, that is about two blocks from the school. We're not quite close enough, to go to each other's houses," He says, as he reaches over to pick up his phone. Dialing the number, he places the phone up to his ear. "Daisuke? Look, I'm not going to be able to play in the game this weekend. Got a sprained ankle. Should be better by next week. Tell Yamada, that he is going to be covering for me, in the game. I'm still coming though, even if I don't play. Yeah, we can go to the arcade, after the game. Thanks, see ya," He says, before hanging up.

"Oh, okay. We can head there after school. I can walk with you if you want..." Kumiko offered as she starts to walk out of the infirmary. She felt like she was turned down by him. That he did not like her. She wondered if he had noticed the sad look on her face when she agreed to just meet at the library instead of one of their places. She was not going to try anything on him. She just wanted to be close to him. For some reason, she was starting to get feelings for him, even after just knowing him for a day. And she was not sure why. Heading to the vending machine, Kumiko puts a coin into the machine and buys him a pineapple soda. Returning back to the infirmary, Kumiko hands him the soda. "Here. Don't worry about paying me back. It's my treat. For some other reason, she wanted noting more than to kiss him. It was like she was drawn to him for some unknown reason. Kumiko was lost and did not know what to say next. So instead, she leaned down and kisses his cheek. "Thank you for getting the books for me, Okada-san. I appreciate it."

"We'll meet at the front gate," Ryo says, as he starts to scroll through his phone. The nurse was going to come back, with some crutches, to help him keep weight off of his ankle. So in the meantime, he was just going to be stuck here, in the infirmary, bored out of his mind. He did come here, at times, whenever he pulled a muscle, or got a headache. But normally, he was never in a position, where he needed to stay in the room. Scanning his phone, he glances up, hearing the sliding door. He could see, in the reflection on a mirror, on the wall, that Tanakawa seemed to have a sad expression on her face. Raising an eyebrow, he watches her leave, confused as to what could've brought this on. They were researching things, not going on a date. This wasn't something that she should take to heart, unless she was emotionally fragile. When she returns he takes the offered can from her. "Thanks, Tanakawa-chan," He says, figuring that since she did this, it was best to be polite. As he starts to crack open the can, he nearly drops it, feeling her kiss his cheek. Cheeks turning slightly pink, he glances up at her, confused. "What was that for?" He asks.

With her face turning red, Kumiko was not sure why she had kissed his cheek. She was a little embarrassed that she had done it. She gulps as she was not sure what to say or do. She just looks at Ryo with a confused look upon her own face. Because I have feelings for you, Ryo....I don't know why...but I just fell in love with you... Kumiko thought in her mind. But she was not going to take it upon herself to tell him that. "I-I don't know..." Kumiko finally answered as she takes a step back. "I should go. Thank you for the books. I will see you after class." Grabbing the books, Kumiko left the room, but was soon stopped down the hall by two girls who were glaring at her.
"Oh, so Kumiko is allowed in the infirmary? What does it take to be able to see the hottest guy in our school? Seeing a ghost and going insane?" a girl named Yuki Agawa asked as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Why do you always get special treatment? Is it because your family is rich? Figures. Why don't you go to some fancy rich girl academy?"
"I don't get special treatment because my father is a well known doctor. Please...just leave me alone. I just had to talk to Okada-san about something important," Kumiko announced as she took a step away from the girls. But Yuki was faster as she slammed the books out of Kumiko's hand.
"Leave Ryo alone. He is mine," Yuki announced as she kicked the books away from her.

When the door slides open again, after Tanagawa leaves, Ryo looks up, noticing that it was the nurse, some crutches in her hand. Sitting up, he pulls his feet over to the edge of the bed, so that he could take the crutches, from her. "Thank you very much, ma'am," He says, adjusting himself, so that he could get to his feet. This wasn't the first time that he had used crutches, so he was fine with this. Sure it sucked, that he couldn't play in the game, but he would get over it. The team would do fine, with him not playing. But when the brunt of the soccer season came, he would be ready. After making sure that he had all of his things, he leaves the room, using the crutches, as he walked down the hallway. He would have to use the elevator, to get to and from his classes, but whatever, he didn't really care. As he walks, he hears the sounds of slamming.....most likely books hitting the floor. Walking in the direction of the sound, he rounds the corner, noticing that it was Takanawa and what appeared to be two more girls, also second years. "What is going on here? Why aren't you girls in class?" He asks.

Kumiko looked up when she heard Ryo coming down the hall. She looked at him for a moment, not sure what to say. She looks back at the two girls before picking up the yearbooks. "Nothing. I was just picking up these books. I accidently dropped them," Kumiko announced as she tried to come up with an idea as to what was going on. She stands back up as she starts to head towards her class. Why was she so nervous around him now? She wanted nothing more than for Ryo to come save her. But now that he showed no interest in her, Kumiko was not sure how to feel anymore. "He must hate me for kissing him on the cheek..." Kumiko sighed.
Yuki looked at Ryo as she glares at him. "Why are you helping Kumiko? Do you suddenly have feelings for her? I thought you were to busy with soccer for a girlfriend. She seems to be hanging out with you a lot these past couple of days."

Watching Tanakawa walk away, Ryo returns his attention, to the girls, who were still here. He didn't recognize either one of them. But given by their attitudes.....they were probably fangirls. That very thought was enough to make him cringe. He wanted nothing to do with those girls. But they always seemed to find a way.....to be gratingly annoying, and he just wanted them to stop. Meeting their gaze, he glares back, his eyes shone, like shards of ice. "What I choose to do, is none of your business. But what you are doing.....bullying other students, isn't acceptable, so I'd suggest that you stop. I don't care what Takanawa does. I am busy with soccer, as you, yourself, have said. But I always have time to stop screeching banshees, like you, from disrupting other students, and causing trouble. Now get back to class," He says.

"Screeching banshees?! How dare you call me that! At least I am not a crazy lunatic going around saying that I saw a dead girl in a closet that was obviously not there!" Yuki announced as she glared at Ryo. "You know what, you are a jerk, Ryo. Come on, Akari. We have better things to do." The two girls started heading in the opposite direction.
Kumiko was sitting at a table outside as she sniffed. Kumiko was in the girls room as she sniffed. She had heard the girls call her crazy as she entered the girls room. She finds a stall as she sat down, letting tears fall from her eyes. Everyone was beginning to think that she was crazy. She was starting to think that she was indeed crazy after seeing that dead girl. She wanted nothing more than to go home and just fade away from what had happened today. Looking down at the books, she pushes them off her lap. They fell onto the tile floor with a loud smacking sound. But one of them opened up to a page. She scanned the page as she bent down. Then, she noticed a familiar face in one of the pictures. It was the girl who she saw in the closet. "Hayashi, Mai..." Kumiko announced as she knelt down to pick up the book. "This is her!" Kumiko said as she stood up. She would need to tell Ryo about this after school when they met at the gate outside the school.
