"First one to get to that tree?" Sugar asked, indicating the tree in front of them. "wins" she said, rearing up and neighing loudly as she took off in a cloud of dust.

Galmúr felt appeased by her words, grinning at her, slightly sheepishly. "I know" he admitted, then his grinned widened, eyes flashing at the challenge. "Oh, so you think so do ya?" he asked, pawing the earth. At Sugar's sudden call he glanced over, quickly spinning so that he was in a line with the two fillies, then leaping forward as the younger filly took off. Within moments he caught up to her and sped past her, his strong young muscles rippling under his golden coat as he streaked over the glade, eyes focused on the tree looming in front of him.

''Hey, no fair!'' Artemis called, weeling and chasing after her friends, large hooves thundering against the ground. Quickly she pulled equal to Sugar, and put on an extra burst of speed in attempt to pass her up.

Sugar slowed slightly once both of her friends passed her. Her eyes clouding. She really wasn't that fast. Sugar sighed and kept running to the tree. Her friends had already been there for a good few seconds before Sugar arrived. "Its not fair" Sugar mumbled. "Why are you guys so much faster than I am?"

Galmúr could hear Artemis and Sugar's hooves pounding behind him, and he put on a burst of speed, his hooves a blur as he flew towards the tree, his legs flying in and out. And then suddenly he flashed past the tree, skidding slightly as he turned to avoid crashing into the forest, slowing to a lope and circling back around to see if he'd won. He was pretty sure he had... but he couldn't be too careful.

Artemis was right behind Galmúr, the thrill of running powering her legs, she sped past the tree right at his heals,'' so, close,'' she said cheerfully, ''good race you guys.'' Hearing Sugar's question she cocked her head slightly, ''but you are fast Sugar, you were right behind us.''

"Not fast enough" Sugar said, with another sigh as she lay down on the grass. "Maybe not even fast enough to get into the herd" She said. "I just wish I could run like you and Galmur!" Sugar said. "Like, like...fast and furious as you say Galmur" Sugar said as she looked over at her oldest friend. She lay her head down on the grass, and sighed again. "There's no point in me even trying to do that test" Sugar mumbled

Galmúr couldn't help grinning slightly as he realized he'd won, but at Sugar's despairing words, he quickly looked to her. "Hey, you're really fast!! Trust me, you're definitely fast and furious, and it's really all just about believing in yourself!" he said encouragingly. "None of that! You'll totally make it through that test! If you go into it thinking that you won't be any good, then that won't do you much good at all!! But if you believe in yourself, I know that you'll surprise even you!!" he said with another encouraging look.

Sugar looked up at both her friends, before standing to her feet, and hugging each of them. "Thanks" she said, with a smile. "I really needed to hear that" She said, as she nuzzled her friends before she looked around. "But that run made me THIRSTY!" She exclaimed. "can we have a drink at the stream?" she asked

Galmúr smiled, glad to have brought his young friend's spirits back. At her exclamation he chuckled "As long as it doesn't include getting into the water again, I just got my coat dry" he said.

Artemis had to reluctantly agree with Galmúr, ''ya, I suppose too much water isn't good for my coat, I will say though I am ready to graze for a bit. What do you two say about going back to the glade and eat?''

"After some water, sure" Sugar said, as she trotted over to the stream and bent her head into the stream, taking a nice long drink of water. When she pulled her head out, water dripped off her muzzle, she laughed. "Alright, now I'm ready for some grazing" she said.

Galmúr smiled, nodding "Of definitely, I'm getting hungry myself" he agreed, also realizing that eating would contribute to more energy and stamina for the next day, if they did end up taking the mysterious test then. He waited for Sugar to return from the stream, then began trotting back to the glade, knowing it had the best, sweetest grass.

Artemis followed Galmúr and Sugar back to the glade, once they reached it, she fell to tearing hungrily at the grass.
