Sugar flopped onto the ground. "Thats it!" she said. "I give up!" she lay on the ground, and stared at the wide ravine. "you two continue on without me, finish the test" Sugar said. "I know you can do it" she said, with an encouraging smile

Galmúr stared at the wide ravine, and suddenly felt rather tired himself. At Artemis's question he sighed, glancing around them. The rock walls left them no other choice. "I think so" he said quietly. "Hey, no you can do it!" he said in reply to Sugar. "I know you can. Remember, this is all about teamwork. If I jump first, and then you jump, Artemis can run with you and give you a really big push so that you can get across easily, and if need be, I can catch you!" he said, swiftly working it out in his mind.

''That's a good plan Galmúr,'' Artemis answered, ''what do you say Sugar?''

[Abbster]

Sugar sighed. "ok" she said, standing up. "Artemis, promise you'll stay right behind me the whole time?" She asked, as she pressed close to her friend for comfort.

Galmúr gave a slightly relieved sigh as both fillies agreed to his plan... which he desperately hoped would work. Shaking his mane out and loosening his muscles he stepped towards the edge of the ravine, forcing himself not to look down. "Ok... it's pretty wide." he murmured half to himself, then turned and trotted further back, as far as he could get until his back was against the rock wall. Readying himself, he glanced back over to the two fillies at the side. "You guys got this. See you on the other side" he said with a slightly fiery grin as adrenaline began racing through him, his nerves tensing up. Then he swung his gaze back to the ravine, and the other side of it. Taking a deep breath he let it out slowly, letting himself focus. And then he leapt forward, his muscles straining as his hooves pounded against the dirt and rock, pushing him onwards and onwards. With a speed even he hadn't anticipated he shot towards the edge. His front hooves landed on the brink, and as he lifted them his back hooves landed. With a huge thrust of his hindquarters, he impelled himself forwards, eyes locked on his destination, legs outstretching, head down as he soared over the ravine. It must have only been seconds at most, but it felt like hours as he flew through the air, the wind whipping his mane and tail. And then suddenly land loomed in front of him and he hit it hard, his front hooves buckling under the force and he plowed into the ground, gasping as he felt the rocks tear into his skin. But he had made it. Shakily he managed to roll to his legs, but remained laying down, trying to catch his breath, his legs shaking slightly as he raised his head to look across the ravine and shuddered slightly as he saw the depth of the ravine. He was only a few feet away from the edge... a few feet less and he would've plunged down. Forcing the thought from his mind he focused on the fillies across the way, his heart pounding with fear for them.

Artemis smiled, ''of course.'' She watched, her body tense as Galmúr jumped and let out a sigh of relief when he made it, turning to Sugar, ''alright your turn,'' she said smiling tightly.

[Abbster]

Sugar took a shaky breath, but nodded. "ok" she said, stepping forward, she leapt into the air...with the help of Artemis, and flew across the ravine...she was almost there, when she looked down. Her front hooves grabbed the edge in front of her, but her back hooves were dangling below. "GALMUR!" She screeched. "HELP!" Sugar used her back legs and tried to thrust herself forward. "I'M SLIPPING!" She yelled.

Galmúr swiftly rose to his hooves as he saw Sugar preparing to jump, then dove forward with a gasp as she didn't quite make it. Without thinking twice he grabbed onto her mane and gave a sharp tug, knowing it was the only thing he could grab to help stabilize her and pull her up.

Artemis watched as Sugar jumped and..... almost didn't make it. She stared ears forward as Galmúr struggled to pull the filly over the edge.

[Abbster]

Sugar pulled herself onto the grass, panting as Galmur heaved her over the edge. "thanks" she managed to get out as she struggled to catch her breath. It was a good thing she had gone before Artemis.. Sugar decided. "ok Artemis!" Sugar managed to call. "your turn!"

Galmúr gave an enormous sigh of relief as Sugar pushed herself onto the solid ground, hugging her for a second then letting her catch her breath as he turned with worried eyes to Artemis. "Come on Artemis.. you got this" he murmured under his breath.

Artemis stepped a few meters back. When she deemed herself far enough away from the edge she began running then thrust herself against the rock and kept one the edge, her front and one of her back hooves planted on solid ground one hoof slipped out behind her but quickly she recovered. ''Hey, you guys alright?'' she asked between panting breaths.

[Abbster]

"not really" Sugar said, as she was still panting on the ground, as she lay there, trying to get her trembling to stop. "But thanks to Galmur, I will be" she said, nuzzling her friend lovingly before she stood up. "ok..." she said. "I don't want to have to do that again...what's next?" she asked, as she hugged Artemis hard. "thanks for staying right behind me" she said, then she hugged Galmur. "thanks for saving me"

Galmúr released a large breath as Artemis soared over the ravine, and landed almost perfectly. "Well, I think you aced that!" he said with a slight laugh, then nodded "I'm ok, just got a bit banged up, but I'll be fine" he said, glancing down and wincing slightly at the large gashes on both his legs. They throbbed pretty bad, but he didn't have time to worry about them. As Sugar hugged him he smiled and hugged her back "Of course Sugar" he responded, then shook himself, trying to ignore his legs. "Alright, let's keep going... the sun is moving fast" he said, picking up a trot, and then moving into a slow canter as it was easier on his legs.

Artemis smiled and hugged Sugar back, ''of course Sugar, I'm always here for you.'' As they continued walking she noticed Galmúr's scratched up legs, ''you sure your ok Galmúr?''
