A Trios Journey (private rp with wingfeather and tenebria)

Artemis begin breathing heavily and she felt her heart begin beating quickly, she closed her eyes and slowly allowed her body to relax. Her ears quickly shot in the direction of the cave mouth at the sound of Sugar and Galmúr's voices, but she did not open her eyes. 

[Abbster]

Sugar nodded to Galumr in understanding. She nuzzled him before she  trotted inside the cave and she settled herself down on the ground. It was cold and hard, but it would have to do. She curled up and closed her eyes as she fell asleep. A slight breeze wafting through the cave every now and then

Galmúr smiled at Sugar as she nuzzled him before heading inside and curling up, looking quite tired, on the rock hard floor. Looking around the cave one last time, readying himself to head back outside alone, he caught sight of Artemis further in the darkness, breathing quite heavily with closed eyes. But she definitely did not look like she was asleep. Quietly slipping past the sleeping gray filly, he made his way over to the friesian and nudged her gently. "Artemis, are you ok?" he asked in concern.

Artemis was startled by Galmúr and opened her eyes halfway, but closed them again quickly, she turned away and said shortly, ''yes, fine, just... tired.'' She lowered her head and forced herself to breathe slower, hoping to look asleep.

Galmúr frowned, still concerned. His friend did not look like she was just tired, and she had not acted like that until they got to the cave. He understood that she might just be feeling exhausted from the emotional and physical toll the day had taken, but still.. it did not seem like his friend to be acting like this. For a moment he considered leaving her be, but by her breathing, and the tenseness of her body language, he could tell she was not asleep as she was pretending. Gently, he nudged her again. "Hey, you know that's not gonna work with me, I can tell when someting's wrong. What is it?" he asked quietly.

She sighed heavily, ''I, I have a fear of tight spaces,'' she said, trying to get over her admittance of weakness quickly, but she was rather relieved to tell someone, her parents had never cared, or at least never showed that they did, they had always told her that if she had a problem to figure it out, but this was different, it was not a problem, it was a fear.

[Abbster]

Sugar twitched slightly before raising her head. Her ears flat against her head as she looked around. It took her a second before she realized that she wasn't with her parents anymore. "Artemis? Galmur?" she called into the darkness of cave.

Galmúr's eyes softened, and he gave his friend a caring nuzzle. "hey, it's ok to be scared, it's not your fault if you're afraid of small spaces. Every horse is afraid of something, and this is just your thing." he paused, then added "Why don't you sleep right beside the entrance? I'll be right outside the cave anyway." he said with a reassuring smile. Suddenly his other friend's voice echoed through the cave, and he looked over, giving a nicker her direction "We're both back here Sugar, don't worry." he said, then looked back over to Artemis, waiting for her decision.

Artemis opened her eyes, her body relaxed slightly at her friend's encouraging words, ''Thanks Galmúr'' she said, ''I think I will sleep outside.'' She nuzzled Sugar as she passed by.

[Abbster]

Sugar smiled and nuzzled her friend in return before she settled herself down again. She closed her eyes, then opened them again. For some odd reason...Sugar no longer felt safe in this cave. She shook the thought away and closed her eyes once more, hoping sleep would come, which eventually it did

Galmúr gave a light smile and followed Artemis, nuzzling Sugar as well as he stepped just outside the cave, lifting his head high as he scented the silent forest. All seemed calm... but his nerves were still on edge. Which was a blessing in disguise, because it kept away the exhaustion that was beginning to creep into his mind. Once in a while he shifted his position, blinking to stay awake, unwilling to drop his guard and put the two fillies in more danger than they were already in. But the night was long, and his young mind could not think of enough to keep him awake, and slowly he began dozing off without even realizing it. His head slowly sinking down towards the ground before he jerked it back up again, shaking his mane as he forced his eyes open, staring at the dark woods fiercely, as if it were the reason he was falling asleep.

Artemis took a deep breath of the cool night air, and laid down as Galmúr took his faithful position. She thought about asking him if they should set a watch, alternating between the two of them, allowing the younger filly more sleep, but only in her dreams did she get up and ask. She fell into a deeper sleep before the Galmúr in her half- consciousness answered.

[Abbster]

Sugar began trembling from where she lay in the cave. Memories of the day before were flooding back to her. Her parents stern faces when she and her friends left...the fact that they didn't even try to help them. Sugar began to mumble things softly as she slept. "mom..." sugar mumbled. "please...we didn't do it on purpose" sugar was pleading as she slept soundly. The dreams kept haunting her

Galmúr was just dozing off once more when his ears twitched, a slight sound catching his attention. Raising his head quickly, he looked around, trying to find the source. A moment later, it came again, a slight mumble from the cave where Sugar was sleeping. Quickly he stepped past Artemis and into the cave, taking care not to make too much noise as he approached Sugar, who seemed troubled by her sleep, most likely dreams. Gently he nuzzled her, hoping to calm her enough to sleep without the dreams.

Artemis eyes opened partly at the sound of Sugar mumbling and she saw what looked like Galmúr walk past her, but sleep quickly claimed her once more and she knew nothing.
