Clover laughed. “I didn’t think so” she said.

“Dont say that” Bella said. “I hate being stuck here! I miss hunting, I miss running with the wind, I miss….I miss it all” she said. “I’m sorry I said what I said. I’m just nervous about being in this new place and you and I should figure things out together.” She whispered.

“I don’t hear yelling” Lulu whispered.

Fang nuzzled her, then listened hard. "Hmm Thunder seems to be handling it well, i don't hear raised voices" he said.

Rebel tilted his head then nodded "That's a good sign" he agreed.

Thunder sighed "I... I don't know what to tell you Bella, I can't let you be as wild and reckless as we both were when we were young. We have pups to think about now. We don't know anything about life here yet, about the predators. I know you're nervous, I know. I want to figure it out together too, but I never know what to tell you, i don't want you to worry, and I don't want you to want to go and do things off on your own. I just... it's a lot to try and juggle properly" he said quietly.

“Thunder, you’re my light” Bella said. “I trust you with my life.” She said. “In fact, I have.” Bella said. She gazed into his eyes. “Thunder, I love you. I always have, and I always will. No matter where we are, or what I’m doing you will always return to me.” Bella said. “I said those words to you right before we became mates” Bella said “do you remember?” She asked.

Clover nodded. “Not yet.” She muttered. “Do you still trust him?” She asked.

Thunder nuzzled her "Oh darling I love you" he said, licking her nose then nodding "I do, I remember" he said softly.

Fang looked over with surprise "What do you mean? Of course I do! Why wouldn't I? He's led us since he was old enough to do so, and he's led us to this paradise. I'll always follow him, no matter what any... other dog says" he said.

Clover blinked at her mate. “Fang! That other dog is our Luna! You can’t do that, you know that!” Clover said.

Bella looked at her mate. “Make me a deal?” Bella asked. “Let me go hunting once a week on my own?” She asked.

Fang sighed "I know, but... well even you have to admit her sense hasn't quite stayed on point since we've left, she's been a lot more nervous and skittish and made less good decisions than before' he said with a frown.

Thunder frowned shifting his jaw around as he thought hard. "Ok... I promise. But... please... don't scare me when you do it, come back as soon as you can, ok?" he said, nuzzling her.

“Fang! She is still OUR Luna and we still have to listen to her!” She said. “Whats wrong with you?” She asked. “You trust Thunder but not his mate, is that how it works?” She asked him.

Bella licked him. “I promise.” She said. “But……I don’t think the pack trusts me” Bella muttered.

Fang sighed "I know I know... I think it riled me up a little bit to see her disregard his authority" he admitted.

Thunder nuzzled her "Of course they do! If they don't, they'll hear from me" he said with a determined snort.

“So do you trust her?” Clover asked.

“They dont” Bella said. “I think you know it’s true” she muttered to her mate.

Fang sighed "Yes, yes i do... but i trust thunder more. He's our Alpha, so his word comes first" he pointed out.

Thunder nuzzled her "IF anyone doesn't, they soon will again. I don't see why anyone wouldn't" he added, nuzzling her.

“Ok” Clover said. “I just think that maybe…because of what happened you don’t trust her.” Clover muttered

Bella looked at her mate. “Why should they trust me?” She muttered.

Fang nuzzled her "She was Beta before she was Luna, of course I trust her" he said.

Thunder nuzzled her "You were my beta long before you were my Luna, you have already proved yourself over and over" he said.

Clover nodded. “I thought so.” She said, licking her mates muzzle. “I love you” she said.

Bella smiled. “Thanks for saying that” she said. “I needed to hear it”

Fang smiled and licked her cheek. "I love you too darling"

Thunder nuzzled her "Of course darling. Now... about that intruder, I need to organize a patrol If.." he paused, then spoke hesitantly "If you want to lead it, I'll let you, as long as you take Fang and some more guards or scouts with you" he said.

Bella shook her head. “Let someone else lead.” Bella said. She stood to her paws and then padded to their den, pushing her way through the vines and laying down with the pups. “Mama” Daisy said, racing over to her happily.
