Thunder frowned. "Well... I didn't get a report from either of you yesterday" he said quietly. They had seen the paw print, and had not told him. That was not good.

Remus licked her nose again then began grooming her as he finished his food.

[Abbster]

Coco blinked. "Rebel didn't tell you?" She asked. "I thought he would've" she admitted with a shrug

Thunder frowned again "I would have assumed such as well" he murmured, abruptly moving away from her and towards Rebel and Lulu's den.

[Abbster]

Coco scuffled her paws and looked at her mate. “I should’ve told him” she muttered a bit

Duke sighed, having come up behind her quietly to listen. "It wasn't your fault, you said Drekel took the trail longer than you right? So he should have told Thumper" he said consolingly.

Thunder padded up to the den and barked commandingly.

Rebel lifted his head and his ears flattened "I have a feeling that's something to do with me" he said as he got to his paws, glancing at his mate.

[Abbster]

Coco shifted. “I should’ve said something..” she muttered.

Lulu nuzzled him. “I’ll be here waiting for you” Lulu promised.

Duke shrugged helplessly "Well now he knows... there isn't much we can do about it now" he said with a sensible expression.

Rebel licked her nose "Thank you darling" he said, although he was still worried. What had he done? Quickly he padded out, dipping himself low before his Alpha. "You..." before he could get further, Thunder cut him off coldly "Rebel, I hear there was a sighting of a large paw print on your scouting trip that I did not hear of" Rebel blanched. He had forgotten. He couldn't believe it. He was a scout, and he had forgotten. He had been thinking about his mate, not the scouting. "Thunder... I... I" he paused. What could he say? "You forgot" Thunder finished for him, his eyes icy. Rebel gulped. "I can't believe I did... and I won't say I assumed coco would tell you because I didn't. I knew it was my responsibility. And I didn't tell you." he said quietly. Thunder shook his head. "I don't understand. You and your brother are my best scouts. And yet now this. That was vital information." he said quietly. Rebel dropped his head. "I know Alpha. It was my mistake. It won't happen again" he said quietly. Thunder's voice was still cold. "No it will not. You are no longer a scout. I wish you to guard. Do not leave the guard paths, and report back to me every single time you finish guarding before anything else. I expect you to take night guard primarily this week" he said, then turned and stalked away. Rebel flinched. That was bad. He had never heard Thunder speak so harshly... except in dire circumstances. It must have been really important, that paw print. He sighed, tail drooping as he turned back to the den. At least he wasn't being demoted to Omega, he thought with slight relief.

Lulus ears flattened as she heard the entire conversation, as Rebel padded back into the den, she stood and rushed up to him. “Oh Rebel” Lulu whispered. “I’m so sorry honey” she pulled him close and began to lick him all over. “But that means we can guard together now.” She said. That didn’t seem to make anything better. “Rebel…” she whispered.

Rebel sighed as he flopped down numbly. "I love scouting" he said quietly, his voice a whisper. It sounded childish... but the discovery of new things, the search for new paths, the racing through the quiet forest... it was his life. "It was my mistake, I brought this on myself" he said as he curled up slightly. He could feel her tongue on his fur, and he turned to nuzzle her half heartedly. "That's true" he said quietly, then laid his head back down.

Thunder padded heavily to his den, entering and laying down, looking pensive.

Lulu felt her heart break. This couldn’t be happening right now. She continued to groom her mate gently as she calmed him down. “I’m right here.” Lulu whispered. “Right here Rebel. Right here.” She promised.

Bella looked up and saw her mate pad into their den. “Pups, stay here.” Bella stood up and pushed her way through the vines. “Thunder?” She whispered.

Rebel glanced over and gave her a weak smile "Thank you my Lulu Trulu" he said quietly before laying his head down again.

Thunder looked up and sighed "Rebel and Coco... when they went on their scouting trip, they found a paw print. I'm assuming the same creature left it. And they did not mention it to me at all. Coco came back early, but Rebel should have told me. So I demoted him to Guard. He will take the night guards." he said, although the punishment seemed to weigh heavy on his own shoulders as well.

“Thunder…” Bella muttered trotting over to her mate. “I know that you feel what you had to do was necessary, but….Rebel loves scouting, he’s never made a mistake before. We all make mistakes one time or another.” Bella said, beginning to groom her mate. In between licks, she continued speaking. “I think that he probably had a lot on his mind. We’re still all getting settled into this new place.” Bella said. “He didn’t mean ti make that mistake, and I think if you give him another chance he will prove that it will never happen again” Bella said as she continued to groom her mate.

Thunder sighed "I know, but that was a big mistake. I must be firm on my punishments. Slacking and forgetfulness is not something to tolerate. WE have become altogether too relaxed and friendly in this pack" he said with some firmness. "I will give him another chance after this week, but first he must learn."

Rebel sighed and licked her cheek. "I'm sure it will be ok" he said softly.

Bella stopped grooming her mate when she heard the sternness in her mates voice. She felt her fur fluff up a little bit and she blinked in slight shock. “Calm down” Bella muttered a little bit.

Lulu nodded and still continued to groom her mate

Thunder looked over at her "I'm not upset or riled up Bella, It's true. We've all gotten too relaxed. We've treated each other like family, when in reality we are a pack. It is a kind of family to be true, but it is not one that calls for such friendliness among ranks" he said with a frown.
