Vervada snorted. Ha, the poor girl certainly had a lot to learn about adult dragons if she was surprised that they were different from hatchlings. A babysitter turned warrior... she would never make it through her first battle! She drew herself up, staring down her nose at the girl as her eyes turned to her. She blinked in shock as Tira dared...DARED to act like she was suddenly an angel. Her eyes glittered with annoyance. Daell just laughed "Well i'm glad Aria's helping out, she definitely is an expert on adult dragons!" He grinned again as she glanced over at Vervada "Yeah, she doesn't want anyone to realize it but she really isn't vicious at all. In fact i'd almost say she's safer to handle than most dragons here!" he continued. Vervada's eyes flamed in embarrasment and anger. No way was she letting this little worm run back to the others and tell them she was a sweet gentle lamb, with Daell's words to back her up! She paused for a moment... she was totally getting in a lot of trouble with Daell for this... but her reputation was way more important. With a sudden snarl, she threw herself at the bars of the cage, slamming her tail against the metal rungs of the sides, sharp teeth clashing just behind the bars as she focused her angry, blazing gaze at the blonde girl. Let the hatchling-sitter deal with THAT!

Everest was walking alongside Spike, the both of them bickering back and forth about random and silly things when they turned the corner to her pen. Right at that moment there was a loud crash and a snarl as Vervada lunged against the bars, glaring angrily at the blond rider. When Spike saw that he roared in rage and tried to lunge foreward as well but unlike the blond girl Aria kept a firm hold on his lead and stopped him from getting away from her. Everest watched with confusion, what was going on? What made her even more confused was the blond girls reaction. The girl seemed surprised and confused, taking a step back, but didn't really look afraid. "Sorry, did I do something wrong? I don't want to cause any trouble..." the girl said, trailing off. She seemed to get distracted very easily. "Spike! Aria you caught him!" She squealed happily, running over to her dragon and seeming to completely forget about Vervada's hostile behavior. Spike sure didn't though and glared at Vervada, wrapping his tail around the dainty blond. "What's wrong with you!" he snarled, baring his fangs. Everest was a little surprised, she didn't know if she had ever seen him truly angry.

Veravada remained snarling as the blonde girl backed away from her in surprise, but unfortunately without fear. What was wrong with her? She glowered at her... until she heard the squeal. With an intensely guilty look she swung her head over to where Everest and Spike were watching her in surprise. Whoops... not the best start with Everest's new friend. But still she did have an image. "Your human insulted me." she answered shortly, then at their expressions she sighed slightly. After all, it was Spike... and if Everest liked him... She rolled her eyes at his angry expression "Ok, chill, I wasn't actually going to hurt her. If i wanted to harm her i would've used my tail. The goal was simply to show her that dragons can in fact understand human speech, and that I didn't like what she said." she growled, sitting down and folding her wings demurely over her back. "VERVADA!" a low angry, surprised tone came from in front of the cage. She flattened herself slightly at the tone, and glanced down at Daell. Oops. His face was a deep red, from anger and embarrassment as he glared at her then moved after Tira. "I'm sorry Tira, she really shouldn't have done that, but I guess she felt offended from what we were saying" he explain hopefully.

Everest glanced from between the two dragons, feeling torn between the two of them. She was immensely relieved though at Vervada's response. She knew from experience from when she had first come that the dragon could have really stirred him up if she had wanted to and she gave her friend a grateful look. Spike seemed to reluctantly accept her response but still nudged the human and kept her close to him. Tira waved away Daell's apoligies, "It's okay, it really was my fault...wait, why would what I say make her mad?" She murmered the last part almost to herself. She gave him and Vervada confused looks, "How would she understand what I'm saying?"

Vervada watched with a guilty expression as Daell went over to the group, clearly mad at her. It wasn't a very good feeling, she realized uncomfortably, to have one mad at you. She didn't mind when dragons were.. but somehow it was not pleasant when a human was. Meeting Everest's eyes she caught the grateful look and a gave her a quick smile. If only her reaction had had the desired effect it would have been actually useful, but now it had just created confusion. Which strangely she realized she had used to like. Daell gave a relieved sigh, then blinked at his slip of tongue. He glanced over at Aria, obviously wondering if he should tell her. Deciding in the positive he motioned to her. "Ok... well I know you won't believe me if I just tell you, so how about this. Tell one of the dragons to do something. Any one of the three." he said, motioning the three three watching dragons.

Tira seemed even more confused by Daell's response. "Tell them to do something?" Her gaze immediately went to Vervada but she seemed to have second thoughts and turned to Everest instead. "Um, can you lift your paw?" She asked the large ice dragoness. Everest grinned inwardly and feeling a little mischevious she just tilted her head in confusion. Aria glared at her and smacked her on the shoulder. With a huff of annoyance Everest lifted her furry right paw. Tira's eyes widened and she gave Daell then Aria a bewhildered look. Seeming to want to double check she turned to Vervada and said, "Wink if you can understand me!" She said eagerly.

Vervada couldn't help grinning as she watched Everest playing dumb. That poor girl, she was in for a world shaking realization. And then she turned her attention to Verada who blinked in surprise. Wink?? WINK?? that was a human thing! How degrading. She looked pleading over at Daell but he just widened his eyes and made a motion for her to obey. With a groan and a large eye roll she finally looked back over at Tira and very slowly winked at her, grimacing as she did so.

Tira stared at Vervada as she reluctantly winked, her face lighting up. “They can really understand us!” Her gaze turned to Spike and she paused, “Wait, you could understand me this whole time and you still have been making all these messes!” She said to the smaller ice dragon, sending him an accusing glare. He gave her a sheepish grin and gave an apologetic rumble. Aria nodded tiredly, “You would think that them being able to understand us would make them better behaved, but they still act like children.” Everest gave her an affronted look and huffed in disapproval.

Vervada grinned slightly as the girl turned to the fuzzy ice dragon accusingly, then snorted in annoyance at Aria's comment. Hmph, she didn't act like a child, she was just bored. What did they expect after cooping her up for days on end with just a single short walk? Daell, however, laughed in agreement "Yeah i was pretty surprised when I figured it out too, but it's made connecting with Vervada a lot easier. Well, that is, when she listens" he added with a rueful grin her direction. She growled, but there was a playful note in her tone. Glancing over at Everest she gave another grin "Ha, wait till she finds out you can write too, that'll probably blow her over!" she laughed gleefully.

Tira's face glowed with excitement and she seemed so flustered she couldn't even speak. Everest snorted at Vervada's comment and grinned, "Yeah, if she is shocked this much about us being able to understand humans it would be hilarious to see how she reacts to that," She snickered. "Although writing is rather annoying, I get a headache just thinking about all the confusing letters and stuff they have." She said ruefully. Hopefully they didn't tell the blond that she could write, she inwardly cringed just thinking about having to do all that work. The sound of footsteps stomping down the hall caught her attention and she shrank back instinctively as she spotted a tall and muscular human approaching, his arms littered with scars. The dark skinned human glared at the blond who immediately straightened with a nervous expression. "General Kilo Sir!" She said, giving a shaky salute. Everest shrank back, remembering the few times she had met the general when she was younger and her tail curled tightly around her nervously.

Vervada laughed "Well don't worry, I won't tell her" she said teasingly, but her mood quickly changed as she watched Everest suddenly shrink back, seeming to curl into herself protectively. Her gaze whipped over, to land on a rather imposing figure, for a human, glaring in their direction. Impulsively she growled, moving as close as she could get to Everest and Daell. That guy had better not try anything on her watch. Daell straightened and quickly stepped back, closer to her cage as the man walked forward, saluting although he wasn't addressed, and glancing over at Aria with worried eyes. The General's visit was no joke.

The General's attention flicked to Vervada for a second at her growl but thankfully didn't say anything about it. His attention instead turned back to the blond girl. "Rider Tira, come with me, Rider Aria put up you're dragon and take the dragon of Rider Tira, you are to put it back where it belongs." Aria's normally kind face seemed much more serious than usual and she quickly tugged on Everest's lead and with no hesitation Everest quickly went into her pen and didn't even make any fuss as Aria left the halter on and went to take Spike's lead. With Spike under Aria' care, the General nodded and turned on his heel, and Tira shot Spike a worried look as she hurried to follow the imposing man.

Vervada swallowed the growl in her throat as the Generals cold gaze swept over her. Ok, now she understood why the others were so subdued. She watched silently as Aria followed his commands, Everest also obeying unnaturally. Frowning to herself she waited for the General and Tira to leave before moving over to the other side of the cage, nearest Everest. "Ok, so that's something i haven't heard about" she said abruptly. "Who's he, and why is he important?" She queried, glancing over as Daell let out a large sigh of relief. "Man am I glad he only got back here AFTER the big battle, who knows what would have happened to Vervada and I if not!!" He said, shaking his head.

Everest watched with wary eyes as the general left with Tira in tow, only relaxing when she was sure that he was no longer in sight. She sighed, "He is on the high council for the compounds, and is known as one of the strongest humans in the land. His dragon is also the largest currently in captivity." She shuddered as she remembered the one time she had managed to spot that absolute monster. "It's a rare Sun dragon, its flames are even hotter than any fire dragon." She wondered why the general had come to take away Tira but froze as another memory came to her mind. "He also likes to collect rare animals and trains them to aide him in battle..." She felt sick to her stomach as she remembered the bird that Spike had eaten, and how it was one she hadn't seen before. No, surely Spike hadn't managed to eat one of the generals beloved pets...right? Aria was still holding Spikes lead and nodded in feverish aggrement at Daell's words. "It's extremely lucky, he is known for his temper and hates when anything is out of line. Why did he need Tira though? I mean, I know her dragon got loose but it wasn't for long and usually he doesn't make a big deal out of small mishaps like this?" Aria thought out loud.

Vervada's eyes widened at this news. A dragon that even Everest seemed to be scared of? "I pity Tira and Spike" she said simply, shaking her head. "If he found something wrong with them, then, from what you've told me, it sounds like they won't get off lightly." Glancing down she could hear Aria and Daell discussing it as well. Daell was speaking again shaking his head in helplessness "I have no idea, worse things have happened and he hasn't done anything about them really. I can't even imagine what it might be" he said, sounding worried.
